This is why I'm not posting any updates on my car here. If you have my number you can call me. If not, buy your own turbo system and figure it out.

The reason the threads in question were deleted is the same reason at least 10 (or more) threads I can remember dating back 3-4 years were deleted. So in this particular subject, nothing has changed. In some cases it's gotten worse.

Erik, Those vendors you mention can survive without any forum. This forum cannot survive without them. Like Tom I do find it to be a little like Wal-Mart around here lately, with a dash of dictatorial flavor. I loved this place for the last 6 years, but now it feels like I am in an HOA.

I don't see it, must be me

If you guys mean we don't have the weekly cat fight like we had in "the old days" then I guess you are right. I don't miss those threads so it doesn't bother me.

for a person (me) that is honestly researching at the "extra power" options available for the 928 i am/was enjoying these turbo threads. having them deleted when someone decides for whatever reason it is in the "communities best interest" and to protect the community from a "group buy" rip-off is understandable but i for one do not need ANYONE telling me how, where and on what to spend my money and research time.

i'm a paying member (as most are) and and i believe that unless there is overwhelming votes to delete a post that is intented to inform and "school" members, post should not be deleted just because they don't fall into the PC way of your power goals.

had i known that this forum was so damn biased about turbo's i would just stayed a "user" and saved my 39 bucks and passed on the cheesy assed membership card...

i agree that paying sponsors should always have the support but to prevent people from learning and thinking about new stuff is wrong.

and i do not believe that it is a group buy protection because i just commited 130 bucks of my own for a new bling tool, no one deleting that shiat are they and protecting me from sending my money to someone (and yes i know turbos will cost more that the blibg tool)???

in summary, deleting these turbo post is fu'ked up and irritates the crap out of me...

getting down off my horse..
I can't find it either. I did not see a reason for its removal except for personal vedetta. If Randy sent this one into the great unknown, I for one call him on it. If you did that Randy , your an *** and you will be the reason I do not re-up membership this year. I don't know John, but I respect his work and the opportunity he provides as well as consider him an asset to the 928 community. Not to mention, THAT WAS ONE DAMN INTERESTING THREAD RANDY.

Its getting ridiculous. If someone were to buy a twin turbo kit from this new company would they not be allowed to share their experience? There are plenty of products that are produced by non sponsors that are allowed to be discussed here with no issues.

And for the record, since it has been discussed recently. The guy who developed this new forced induction option was not banned for any infraction. Over the years he and other people on the forum would have lengthy and heated debates as to which form of supercharging was better, S/C or turbo. Alot of good information was shared even though the threads would usually get a little out of hand. He ended up building a car for his brother. The brother decided to come and brag about it on Rennlist, and get into a pissing match with a few people. Of course he (the turbo builder) felt the need to defend his brother as most would do, even though his brother was out of line. He was then ridiculed by a certain few and instead of moderating, Randy laughed along with the others. He left on his own accord because he felt that Rennlist was a hostile environment. It was only later (about 8 months later) that Randy decided to ban him even though he had not posted in awhile. Here are the last couple of threads where he participated. Judge for yourself. The second link has the most drama of the three. The straw that broke the boostards back was a video that ws posted of a talking monkey. The monkey was supposed to be the brother the monkey made a few off color comments. That thread has been abyssed by now I believe because I cannot find it.

Randy will claim that I am a shill for this turbo builder. That is not true. I have only met him once for a very short time at SITM. In the interest of full disclosure, I have been to the brothers house a few times to help him work out some fueling issues with the 16v TT car that he owns. And for the record, he isn't a bad guy in person, but he came off pretty bad in the few threads he participated in.

Now that I have said all of this, I make a plea. Randy if you are reading this, and I know you are, please explain to us which rules you are enforcing by deleting these threads. In addition, we would appreciate it if you would explain to us how we can discuss these things and not fall foul of your delete button.

I cant believe this ****. Isn't it all about maintaining, restoring, and upgrading our cars? What about the team? THE REAL TEAM. Not the man or the money. Disgusting, this is like a dictatorship. i have been on several boards and this is the first paid for membership I have ever been on, but i tell ya maybe its the times but Its getting to the point were i wont bragg about it. Sad, I have met a ton of great people and got amazing deals on here and got great sponsor hookups. It just don't look good the way this is heading.

I can't say I'm very pleased with the post deletion. I've been a member for four years and don't post allot unless I have something to add or have a technical question. This forum has been a big help in me getting and maintaining my 928's. I look forward to reading posts on ways to improve or maintain our cars. I'm interested in boosting my 928 at some point and am open to all that is being done. I have met many of the boosting architects and respect the time, energy, money and passion they have given to their project.

This said, I like the discussions about the different boosting applications. If someone doesn’t like a specific application and just wants to beat the person down then don’t post. Why start some crap. There are always advantages and disadvantages to any application. That is the information I want to learn, cost, complexity, merits! We have folks that know more about these things then I will ever know. If you have a suggestion to help improve the project then give it by all means. Yes, some of the info can be BS but it can be handled in a civilized manner.

I have to admit that personalities have clashed and things have gotten out of hand over the years. Things were said and taken out of context and all of a sudden it is personal. There are allot of people passionate about these cars and are willing to put the time any money into them to get what they want. People have said things that went way over the line and they should be reprimanded for it. Some people just don’t know when to quit and this is a problem. I see others that must like to see how many posts they can make regardless of the importance of information given, so be it. Some people need to just lighten up.

Good technical information should not be censored. If a particular post to a thread crosses the line delete it and let that person know why and what is acceptable.

Being a monitor is not an easy job, you can’t make everyone happy. They also need to be impartial, problem is I have seen them personally attacked and this is not a good situation.

We all make mistakes and it takes a big person to admit it, this goes for everyone!.

Rennlist is still the best forum for technical information hands down. I do frequent other forums but this is the main one for me.

Let the information be put forward and to each his own. If it helps us to maintain our cars all the better. If someone is doing something which can cause harm to them or their car then let them know.

Enough said.

Glenn

I agree 100% - that is why I find THIS thread so funny.....

THERE WAS NOT ONE OUNCE OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION IN ANDREW'S THREAD!!!

It was how many pages of banter and usless discussion (some of it derogatory towards a former member).

If I were "you know who" I would be happy that thread was deleted. I countd about 7 posts that were downright inflammatory towards him. IMO that is the #1 reason why that thread was deleted. There was no useful information to be gained from it and the content of the thread was in the gutter and falling fast.

Its funny how you keep alluding to the fact that you know why all these threads have been deleted. Coincedence or collusion? Hmmm?

Actually, I think I know why they were deleted and it doesn't have anything to do with twin turbos or even its creator

It's called seeing a common pattern.

I'm not saying I necessarily agree with all of this, but the reason(s) everyone is looking for seams pretty damn obvious to me. Well, it’s obvious to quite a few people who are not bothering to post in this thread.

For Gods sake Fabio, how many people said flat out negative things about someones character in that thread??? When has that EVER been allowed???

NEVER!!!!

Do you care to share that with the rest of the class Mr. Pschorr?
