Back Door MSG. to 928 OC via Ed Ruiz

Ed,
Surfed across tthe 928 OC org some time ago and posted to individuals on Public.
Wrote a check for $30.00 -keep the change -
for membership. Somewhere along the line Windows Messaging -not me - authorized three 928 OC address entries to my address book.
Since that time I seem to have dropped off of 928 OC public and get nothing but error messages and unauthorized user messages. I asked for help from the 928 Org 3or4 times now, no response and NO SUCH LIST messages appear. I can buy 928 OC trinkets and otherwise access all other member areas of the site just no regular messaging.
I have over the last week recieved messages back from individual members from all over the globe. The messages, mostly, aknowledge
the error message/message displayed on recipients screen etc. . I believe you and several other members confirmed that I was using the correct - 1st one - address. Thanks to all who took the time to read and respond :) But I have to point out I still can't message thru the club address, have not recieved any assistance thru the club proper and furthermore I am now recieving mail from other -4 so far- gruntled or disgruntled paying members who have similar communication problems. This is to say you folks have a problem somewhere that needs attended to. I'm posting here, on rennlist, because I know you are a 928 OC Founder, Charter Member, visit this site, and we can communicate here. I want you to look into this when you get a chance. I am making allowances for summer vacations, sickness, other commitments. If we can't resolve the problem just cut me a $ 30.00 check and send it to the address below. In related news I have had Zero problems with rennlist even before becoming a member. I have also read the postings for a possibility of 928 OC merging with Rennlist, on the face of that suggestion I would agree. Altough, 928OC might be a sub-category of Renn if you use the same servers and equipment/programs cost might not go down but they shouldn't go up after initial merger costs. It would mean a concentrated Porche membership with additional opprotunities of bulk parts purchasing for members while at the same time reducing advertising costs for the vendor's. Think about it not as a founding Father -Kudos - But as joining an extended family.
Write in a seperation for cause clause if you are worried about total assimilation.
all for now

The Club's message and BBS ISP crashed and went under. The Club is scrambling to recoupe the data, and then load it onto a more stable ISP. Please bear with the Club as it regroups.

In the meantime, the Club is also in the development stage of creating a new website. Also, it is in the process of developing Club By-Laws, and a slate of potential Club Officers. A volunteer is also working to establish regional group contacts.

Lastly, the Club's membership form and payment acceptance are being modernized. Soon, all members can join or renew their membership via credit card or "PayPals". :)

Thanks in advance for your patience and support.

Thanks again,

I had a similar problem, except I stopped recieving email altogether. I haven't recieved any Porsche-related email since just before the 4th of July. Quite coincidentally I had a problem with my email server in that I hadn't been properly deleting messages so they just stacked up on the server end until I maxed out my space quota. I'm now glad it isn't my problem (I think) and am glad to hear the 928 OC is going to hit the next level of web-site operation. Though I know there are certainly benefits from a 928OC/Rennlist merger, I personally find it quite refreshing to have the Owners Club independent of the other Porsche-related groups out there and not the least bit inconvenient. Though I've only been a member since the Spring, from what it seems, Ed, you guys are doing a good job.

Dear Flint:
Thanks for the kind words. I hope you are now getting messages from the 928OC BBS. There has been some activity that is too long to mention here. Suffice it to say, progress is being made.

It is hoped there will soon be: a new website with member controlled features, Regional Coordinators (and volunteers to help them), Club Bylaws (ratified by a majority of members), Officer elections, and the (we hope) peaceful overthrow of Trustees.
