Yamabond, where to use it?
Has anybody used Yamabond on any of the gaskets on a rebuild. I'm typically a "dry guy", but I was wondering if there is any merit to using this stuff on the oil pan and other surfaces?

Yamabond is a non-hardening sealing material. It is mostly used where metal mates to metal without a gasket..... like motorcycle crankcase-halves.
Having said that, I also use it where gasket sealing is questionable, like at the corners of the intake-manifold on a Chev engine, where the intake gaskets mate with the rubber front and rear lifter-valley seals. On the 32v 928, I use a dab at the sharp corners of the cam-cover gasket as they seem to be a weepy spot. I hear that the 928 needs this type of sealant at the bottom end when the lower bearing cradle is assembled to the block.
YMMV
