Default New engine project, N/A or S/C?

Hi,

this is not supposed to be a general NA vs SC thread, I just need some input on what to do in my specific case.

I currently have a M28/09 engine. That is a 4,5L non-S Euro. Remember, these are not like the OB 4.5Ls, different cams/heads, 10:1 CR, double valve springs etc. But it's an original M28/09. It was totally rebuilt 4 years ago and I have less the 5000 miles on it since. It works/runs perfectly. Will probably for many years to come.

But I want more power.... (don't we all)

Option 1 N/A:
get Euro "S2" heads/cams and Euro S intake and CIS over the existing 4.5L engine. I can get used heads/cams/intake for very reasonable money over here, bur rebuilding the heads and porting will still cost me $$. With headers and a good exhaust, this mod probably has the potential to reach 300 flywheel HP.

Stage two would be getting a US 86,6 5L short block, have it rebuilt, and this could potentially get me to 350 flywheel HP.

(but by the time this is done, I'm in supercharger territory $-wise, probably)

Option 2 Supercharging
get a kit from Carl, have fun over a weekend fitting it, and just drive it... This would get me going quicker, but be initially more costly (would probably have to involve a few lies to the missus). What I dont like is the non-stock appearence. With option 1 the car could still be maintained by the manuals, and be more attractive to a future owner, I imagine. (I also guess the better flowing heads would be very beneficial with the supercharging, just like headers/exhaust would.....)

Anything else I havent taken into consideration yet? Pleace advice...

I need to start a project before I loose interest in the shark
