It's an ERA kit with a V12, it's in my neck of the woods. I took these in Elkhart Lake:

especially since its an older V12...like one from a 70's daytona or something....

Either way a Por-Bra is still cooler & probably would sound better...BTW did you hear that V12 cobra run??

Notice the temp plate - he just purchased it (2002).
The car was built by Al Burtoni's-Milano Imports in Gilroy California.
In the late 80's the car was featured in "Exotic Car Classics" by Road & Track, tested by the great Phil Hill.

They also dropped a V12 into a Jeep back then.

Sound? Strange at first since I didn't know it was "that cobra". I thought it was a V6 when I saw the three pipes coming out of the side until I realized it was six.

That's it!: Thanks Hacker:cheers: It was for sale a few years ago and I was tempted. If only it had an engine with top mounted carbs, ahh... That looks like the engine from the little loved 4 door 400. All V12s are just great, I'm destined to have another v12 in the future.

If 8 are good then 12 is better right????????????????

If only Porsche made a 12 cylinder...oh wait they did...but damm its rare and big $$$$$$$$ 1000hp would be nice though

If you drop your 7L 928 engine into a kit car, how about a Beck Porsche 907(or whatever it is)? If it were rear or mid engine you could even mount Webers and not worry about them blocking your vision:jumper:

Beck 904 and I don't know if any are on the street. I saw their displace models at Hershey. They look cool, but I'd much rather have one of the 917s from Australia.

The Cobra setup I want is the aluminum bodied "Double Venom" cars. They have a Viper V-10 and 6-speed. Supposedly one out there is twin turbocharged.

For a 928 7liter vs an LS7, I'd much rather have the 928 engine and it would definitely easier to install.

Chuck Beck lives nearby and takes his 904 to local Autox's. I've seen him nearly take FTD away from youngsters driving WRXs. Chuck is in his seventies. The 904 had a basic 911 motor in it. He had alot of projects going on at his shop and it seems like there's always the possibility of his cars being produced somewhere else. They're very well built. One time he was leaning against the fender of his 550 and I made a comment or something about it. He then grabbed the fender lip and started shaking the car up and down until it was hopping off the ground, yea, they're well built:)

Ok, let me be the first to say this:

This thread is useless without sounds clips!

And Por-Bra...ha ha...

How about Co-sche..pronunced Co-sh-ah, as in "ko-sha food". :burnout:

If you guys are interested in 7.0L 928 engines, ask Dave @CEP Evil 944 on the 944 turbo board. I think he has this covered. can't really say as it would let the cat out of the bag, but with a little math, you will find out he has this size engine configuration covered and in production.

Sorry I cannot be more specific, but its not my project and I feel it would be wrong to spill the beans on it. Dave is involved with it and will be more than happy to tell you about it I'm sure.

Is it a 928 engine or are you saying it's a 3.5 liter sleeved 944 engine?

V2Rocket 02-09-2008 07:07 PM

iirc there was someone a while back that had a 3.4L turbo 4.

Something has been annoying me since H-P posted the V12 Cobra pics.... WTF would you use Fram filters on a Ferrari???? They are absolute crap filters!

Definitely not picking on you Sterling, but I can't help but think that if we hopped in a time machine and went back a ways, there'd be posts looking a lot like this instead:

They are red and have valve which prevents oil from draining back to sump. This is important to cam wear. Besided, cheaper they are more profit for Enzo.

Mike Simard 02-10-2008 07:54 AM

If they had 10 more oil filters it would look like some kind of steamship from hell!
