You know the "my friend found in a barn" stories?

Oh the "Nay" sayers. Funky, I hope its everything you dream it is. Good luck.
I can already picture the posts if someone said they thought they found a winning Lottery Ticket? "Oh, thats just trouble. You're going to have to get a lawyer which is PITA, you're gonna get sued, you'll have to pay all kinda taxes, the sky is gonna fall, Bla, Bla, Bla." Sheesh.

Thanks all
Thanks everyone for the comments. If the car is any kind of shape as I expect it to be for a 100 mile car and I can afford to buy it I will. Restoration costs to me are always in the eye of the beholder. Dont get me wrong if I could afford to buy a mint car for big bucks I may do it.
For me my budget is always up and down. Some months I have money, some months I don't. My thinking has been the same for years and has worked for me. if I can buy it for the right money I can garage it and work on it (again a great source of enjoyment for me) and buy parts as I can afford them. if I were to spend 10's of thousands on a car on finance I would always worry about how long I could afford it for.
It may not make sense to many but to me its the way I think. A monthly payment on a car must be made, a part you need can wait until next month.
And everything I do on a car I try to do properly so know it shouldnt come back to bite me on the ***.

3 pages of speculation and all the gentleman did was repeat what he was told in short. It's great how we can create whole stories from just a "blip" of info.
Funky, I hope it is everything you wish for it to be as anything is possible. Do let us know what you find either way. Best of luck!

I wish you luck on this. One of my buddies got a true barn find. A complete, original owner '59 unrestored fuelie 'Vette. $8k. That's a barn find.
Print out the sceptics' comments on this thread & keep them in your back pocket as a negotiating tool.... and if it's what you suspect it is, you may get a sweet deal.

FUNKYBOOGALOOO. . .
well? *
Is 'no news' = 'good news'. . . or what?
We're all rooting for ya!
Whether it's cheers . . . or condolences . . . we're 'here for ya'...
(perhaps you're trying to weave through the 'legal tape' that might be associated with this 'undeclared car')...
*borrowed from kris' avatar - luv this foot-tappin' dude!

G'Luck with your venture! It is important, after all, just how you approach a shark!
Best!

Burning Brakes
This happens, I went after a 7k mile 1979, and it was a goose chase, yet I just contracted for the real deal a 10k mile 1980 5spd, verified, second owner, all the records etc.. I also lucked up about 5 years ago on a one owner 491(turbo look) 911 cab with 7k miles just 100 miles from me, and I was skeptical at best during the drive, but sure enough in the garage covered in 2 inches of dust was the REAL DEAL... the dust helped preserve it.. LOL
Keep after it, it might be the one, or it might have 100k miles on it, but the hunt is all the fun.
