Default encounter with a Z06

So there I was, enjoying my drive home after the Superbowl last night, surfing the back roads and really appreciating my new Cibie H4s. The car was running beautifully and just felt perfect. Then I came up behind a brand-new Z06, really a great looking car and what the Corvette should look like...doing 32mph. Hmmm, driving home from the Superbowl in a car with more than twice the hp I have, and crawling along well under the speed limit.

Luckily he turned into a subdivision soon after and I resumed my very enjoyable drive. I bet I had more fun than he did.

GO GIANTS!

Ha! I was ready to read something like "At the light, I gunned it and so did he. When it turned green, we both took off. The Z06...."

Greatest encounter with a ZO6 I've seen was when an E55 took one for a walk on PCH in Newport Beach. After that, I think I know what 4-door car I'd buy next in a heartbeat

....and so the lesson here is that corvette owners can be poseurs, just like a lot of p-car owners are poseurs.

Those two things are mutually exclusive. If you are drunk, you are not being careful.

Like I said, after the Superbowl, driving home, reeeeeeellll slow. Seems obvious to me.

Me? Sober as a judge and enjoying the drive. Life is good!

I have spent a bit of seat time in a C6 Z06.....owned by a lister no less......after some serious on a backroad drive.....

I managed to get a ride around Thunderhill during a DE.....to say the Z06 is a beast is an understatement......its nice basically driving the track in 1 gear and still managing to hit almost 120mph on the straight + have plenty of power to pass people coming off lower speed corners at say 50mph.....that engine is VERY flexible......

However I did ride in a S4 that did the track in 1 gear too....also 3rd....honestly a properly setup 928 seems to handle as well as the lighter Z06.....it just lacks the brute HP the Z06 has....

I shouldn't say this, but whenever I see one of those cars next to me....I back off the throttle.
