Try a dynapack or other similar chasis-type dyno for accurate data. Roller dynos bring into play far too many variables. A bone-stock 928S4 should pull in the neighborhood of 260-270 hp if running properly. But what the hell do I know... I've only been on this forum 9 months.

I understand that the car "should" put down 260 - 270 given basic "known" variables. It was known that the dyno used was going to produce lower numbers. As I stated earlier, the dyno in question is used primarily for tuning purposes, NOT for making pretty graphs. I put the car on the machine for fun, and to support the dyno day thrown by one of my sponsors.

The car is healthy, and runs as it should. All it needs is a service, and if I have the car in a few weeks, it will get serviced.

About the 9 months thing, don't go getting your panties in a wad. I give as good as I get. The difference between most people out there and I is that I will fire back. You made a series of smart azz posts, so you got a smart azz (and true) response.

Quite often at any 928 dyno day if several S-4s are run...one or two will have a throttle cable missadjusted so not wide open, a flappy not happy, a bad hall signal generator , or bad knock sensors, a mass air failing to a over lean condition or back plug wires/plugs caps rotors . And the owners of the car they THOUGHT it ran "just fine" . It might have helped when you posted the dyno numbers if you had mentioned that the dyno is always conservative and understates power. As far as being "too honest" goes the condition of ANY used car is subjective what bothers you may not be important to someone else. For what ever reason it rarely happens that one rennlister buys from another perhaps because they already have a 928 or two or three and are already heavily invested in what they have. There are probably hundreds of good things about your car and most 20 year old cars have a wart or two , just focus on the positives and let the potential buyer decide what bothers him. If you really want to sell the car E-bay is about the best advertising that you can get. Take many , many photos and let the buyer decide if it is what he wants.

10k for a nice S4 seems like a deal to me. put it in the auto trader. leave out the dyno numbers, take a few nice pics and make it as clean as possible. she'll sell in no time.

I know someone thats just started considering getting an S4 & price is a more impt factor to them than the milage or it being a concourse queen. I'll let them know of this one for sure.

Do I understand correctly that this is the car that was in the wreck last May?

If you could post some detailed "after" pics that would definitely help,
Thanks & Good Luck!

I hear you loud and clear. I guess I am a little sensitive because when I was looking for my 930, I had several cars misrepresented to me, and considering the distances I had to travel to view them in person, it got old pretty quick. I guess I just don't believe in wasting time...

Thanks again for your imput.

Yes, that is the same car. I know Greg pretty well. After the accident, I thought the car was too nice to be parted out. So, I took it to a friend of mine that does paint/body work. As it turns out, the car was not hurt badly and I bought it from Greg. It has since been fixed, and the car drives & stops straight as an arrow. The car has a CLEAN & CLEAR title. I have put about 1,500 miles on it since then and it drives as it should.

When it stops pouring down here, I will take some pictures and post them up.

That car got hit pretty hard and was totalled out by the insurance even if the title is clean it really still is a "salvage" car , what does the carfax say ? And why does the hood need adjustment ? Not my cup of tea. Good luck with your sale. That one needs to go on ebay. Plus why would the professional who fixed it not be able to match the paint color that is just plain weird !
