Myles your description is probably too honest. You need to find a none 928 guy who always wanted one and can not believe that he could own an S-4 for $10,000. If the hood will adjust then adjust it. Repeat after me "The A/C probably just needs freon" ..and the "fender and door look like there was a bit of paint work done at one time" Then in big letters car sold AS IS ... runs and drives GREAT and do not mention the dyno numbers because they are underwhelming.

240 RWHP!

Thats one sick shark, yeah as Jim said, i wouldnt be spreading that around. I think you should be around 270 at least

And sorry, but why do people post dyno runs on youtube? That has to be the most boring clip ever, a stationary camera filming a stationary car and the only thing moving is the rear wheel. Sorry but there has to be a better more creative way to do this then what i just saw. Why record it anyway? who would really ever want to watch it? I mention this because when i do a "porsche 928" search on you tube, I get a ton of in car camera shots of racers and a bunch of dyno runs. WHO CARES.

BUT dyno like hat Devek one with an awesome sounding car is another story, the audio is cool, but who really needs the video anyway.

240RWHP sounds about right - 300 SHP x less 20% for the superb auto gearbox = 240RWHP.

I applaud Myles for being honest - since when has honest been bad.
Now if it was on eBay Jim's comments are exactly right.

Yes but Roger the car starts with 316 CHP. And 18% is more accurate- that shark is way down on power.

Hi Kevin,
Good point but maybe the Dyno was not good either.

Myles,
Good luck on trying to sell your car.

We have a local 928 fellow who went on a run with the group down to Louies,

Put his car on the Dyno and it only pulled 230RWHP it is a 91 auto

Upon getting home he had me try to find the issue,
He also wanted the timing belt and waterpump done,
When I got in there I found that the shop who had done it last had the passenger side camshaft of 1.5 teeth :O
Did a compression test after setting back to zero and he had 205 all around and the car is alot smoother, still need to get it onto a dyno to see if it is fully healed or not.

I understand your point...the car is NOT sick. Repeat after me...DEPENDS ON THE DYNO, and WHERE THE CAR IS BEING DYNO'D. That same day, a friend of mine ran his car on that SAME DYNO...he has a 2005 350 Z that has been turbo'd. His car put down 405rwhp all day long on the dyno at the shop in Houston. On the day my car was shot, his car put down 340rwhp. The dyno this car was on is known for giving low numbers...they use that dyno to tune cars, NOT to give crazy graphs so guys can run around patting each other on the back...

Too honest? I would rather be up front with someone than screw them. If it does not sell, that is fine. I will continue to make it into a perfect car and either keep it, or sell it. Another opportunity has presented itself, and if someone is interested, I want them to know EXACTLY what they are getting into before taking the time to come and see the car.

A couple of years back, I sold a 911 to a guy in Texas. I ruined the engine going to see a girlfriend. The first thing out of his mouth (after driving 9 hours one way to see the car) was that it was exactly as described. My word and my reputation are worth more to me than swindling someone out of a couple grand. The car is not perfect, but it is very good and quite nice.

Again, the car is not up in PA. The car was dyno'd in South Louisiana...

BTW, I believe the dyno was a DynoJet...

Roger,

Thanks for the kind words. I am not worried about the crowd here. I expected this reaction. I got the same reaction when I sold my 944 some time ago on that board. Everyone wants to nit pick your car and slam you when they find something wrong. The problem is that only a handful of people are actually familiar with my particular car, and none of them have posted on this thread with the exception of you.

Its like anything else...when YOU have it, it's worthless...but when THEY have it, it is worth its weight in gold.

So many different post I want to respond too I almost don't know where to start, but here goes.

First off, Please cut the man some slack on his membership. I'm sure his RENEWAL is in the mail. As long as I've been here he has been a paid member and he has contributed to this Forum many times as he has the other forums we both are members of. Or I will relist this S4 as my own and sell it under my membership, either way people,, plz lighten up.

I dynoed my NSX on the same dyno and know for a fact it reads 40 - 50 hp too low. Example : Stock 91 NSX is 270 to crank, so about 230 wheels right? (5sp). I have full intake, headers, no cats, exhaust, chip, underdrive pulley, gearing. Combined mods it is not debated on NSXPRIME.com that that is 50 hp. Also I ran a 13.1 @ 107 mph with heavy Volk AV3's. Well guess what?, it dynoed 230hp !!!!!!!!!!

As far as the condition of the car I can tell you its supernice. I have put quite a few miles on it myself and I don't even know what slight rip he is refering to on the seat, interior to me looks like brand new. Trans shifts like butter, cars drives super smooth, and turns heads constantly. If it was a 5SP I would own it.

This is a great car at a super price, lets get this thread on topic and leave opinions of youtube clips to the immatures posters on other Forums!
