Macfly4, If thats what it takes for you to have a nice car and it runs good , and it makes you feel good to drive it, then hey pay the man and move on.
Possibly, a bit wiser for the next time you might need some assistance to remedy a problem with your car.
My only suggestion for you is to take some time to post a question to this site, B4 you make any maintenance moves, you might have a solution that can be less costly and quickly remedied.
Your car looks great and I must say that your doing a great job of keeping em flying, good luck on your path, Stan

The thing that got you was the retail prices on the parts. Other wise everything looks normal to me. I sure wouldn't have done it for any less..

obviously its a lot of money but when i think about the time involved....
changing a timing belt and water pump cant be a quick and easy procedure. im sure if i even attempted something like that i would be cursing up a storm and probably damage something...and then would have to hope i put it all together correctly and that the car would run!
maybe they charge a bit more than others for the time but the guy did try to 'help' me out by saying it would do what he could to keep the total under 7k
but now i have a new water pump and timing belt, a new passenger mirror motor, an oil pan that has been checked and retorqued, windshield washers that work with new valves and a new a/c that should last another 20 years hopefully.
lol...trying to look on the bright side...
