Default Any good 928 shops in Chattanooga?

I've had my 87 S4 for about a year and a half now, and have been reading the many archived posts regarding occasional belt tension warnings that appear during hard acceleration. I had the belt changed, new water pump and tensioner rebuilt last summer, then had the tension checked again after 1,000 miles. Work done at dealer, because I haven't reached to point where I'm comfortable doing major work myself.

Lately, the light has been coming on. Not often, but enough to cause me to want to have it checked out. I suspect, after searching, that either the tensioner is dry, or the ground wire is loose. I'd like to think that the belt itself is ok. I hesitate to take it back to the dealer, as the mechanic who was familiar with 928's has moved out of state.

Looking for recommendations - I'd be willing to observe/help if I can find someone local who has the knowlege and is willing to teach. Alternatively, I'd like to take it to a qualified shop and have it checked out. Any suggestions?

Very busy shop, so they wont want to tutor, but I trust them emphtically. They will not repair or bill for work not needed. They are at $80 an hour labor plus parts at a reasonable mark. They do all the work on my DD. Waymon is a porsche guy from way back. Ask him about his time in Germany with Ferry Porsche. You will be his friend forever. If you find a guy who specializes in 928 please let me know.

Brian, do you have any experience with AG Imports? I've had a recommendation off-line to take the car there.

Would you trust the folks at Eurasion to do TB work on your 928?

Bruce,
Why don't you bring it over to my house... I've got a Kepmf tool and a beer fridge... an hour later, we'll have it sorted out! And I don't mind teaching.

AG helped me find a leak I couldn't isolate recently. They are top notch people, but a little too expensive for me to have them pay for fixing it. The oil pump reseal was going to be $700... I did it for about $25 over a couple of evenings.

Michael, sounds like a great idea. Let me check with the wife as far as the weekend schedule goes. I'll let you know tomorrow. Really appreciate the offer.

Brian,
I just let Bruce know I will probably be at work on Saturday. I'll know more at the end of the day tomorrow.

What kind of spare parts do you have hiding over there??? Have a spare rear latch or just the plastic insert??

All parts from a 83S. I have a rear wiper arm, rear wiper pivot seal and motor, a 3 pc S spoiler, steering bushings, 2 magnetic oil drain plugs, 2 motor mounts and some other stuff from the PO that I cant identify.
Will soon have rear bumper cover(rough) and L&R taillights.
