The only way a dyno will tell you what you want to know is to take along a healthy stock S4/GT and run them back to back and compare the results.

Allegedly, the mythical GTE is en-route to America on a Verrrrry Slooooooow boat from the far flung Isles of Langerhans...

What do you mean about mythical?

Does the car exist? => Yes
Is it a one-off => Yes, certainly

Wait a few weeks and you should learn what makes it unique and interesting in the history of the 928.

Yes, Faithful and True...

Apprehended and in the bottle... and, for just a moment, Time Stood Still...

Fittingly, as I closed the door to the trailer, it was...

Special thanks go to Samuel (928CS), our incredibly knowledgable ClubSport friend. Without Samuel, this car may well have continued in its quiet state of slumber or even been lost to obscurity.

The second owner, who brought the car from South Africa to the U.S. and did not alter the car or allow it to be federalized, and his wife who at least for now, will remain anonymous.

Additional thanks go to Drooman who helped me again with maintaining perspective in the world of collecting the finest and rarest, and Rob Edwards our dedicated Archives Gatekeeper for his incredible knowledge of all things 928.

My wonderful wife, who loves Porsches almost as much as I do and jumped in Big Blue and raced off with me to drive a couple of thousand miles in hardcore holiday traffic to bring the GTE home.

I am grateful and humbled to become the third (owner...?) or, is it Steward...

More to follow... It Is an amazing story!

Let the fun begin, once you are at home.

By the way, VD means Vertrieb Deutschland and I need to translate this article:
