thats Joe Fans front nose kit!
I dont buy it either. though it is a good story. i wonder how they got the 360hp. sounds like that was rear wheel hp, uncorrected, so near 420rwhp corrected??? out of a 5 liter??? something's fishy there!

I am guessing it could be a 88 CS..with dealer installed aftermarket kit....no way Porsche would put that stuff on there. The partial vin in the letter shows a JS..so 88..but can't read the engine code which would clarify the CS or stock engine...
Unique Attributes
All components were made by (or for) Porsche themselves. The bodywork is also unique to this specific car, as are the "928 GTE" and "CLUB SPORT" markings on the rear bumper, which are actually factory-supplied graphics. The distinctive front and rear clips are very different to other 928 models.
C00: No delivery; Germany. Not intended for or built as a customer car.
018: Sport steering wheel, black leather, red stitching
139: Seat heating system
298: Catalyst together with manual transmission
326: Radio Blaupunkt Berlin IQR 88
383: Sport seat left, electrical vertically adjustable
387: Sport seat right, electrical vertically adjustable
650: Electrical sliding roof
As with the Club Sport models, some of the standard S4's features were deleted in order to reduce weight, as was the case with the limited run "SE" cars. Examples include the rear airconditioner hardware, underbonnet soundproofing and the forward-rearward electric seat adjustment motors.

Am I the only one that thinks the bumper looks to busy to be factory work? If Porsche really made this one special car why wouldnt they just call it the GTE and drop the Club Sport lettering?

Not true. C00 is normal German option code which appears in thousand cars.
018: Sport steering wheel, black leather, red stitching
Not true. 018 is elevated hub. It does not say anything about steering wheel itself.

Not true. Rear AC was option in German cars, shouldn't have it without that option being listed. 383 and 387 option sport seats do not have forward-rearward electric adjustment.
Also VIN looks like normal ROW '88 MY. Since CS was available at the time it should have also 637 option code to have SP code club sport engine.
Other thing are those spoilers. Did AIR copy them from this car? Did AIR manufacture those already in '88? Did Porsche use AIR parts?
Since info has so many conflicting details I'm beginning to think this is just average '88 S4 which maybe has CS engine in it, very likely installed after car left from factory.

Thanks for posting this. Now we all can see that this whole story is outrageously ridiculous!
Ask yourself a few questions here:
- Why would the factory bother to build a such car in the first place?
- If they scrap all prototypes that don't make it into production, why is this an exception?
- Why would they call it Grand Tourismo Executive AND Club Sport at the same time?
- Why would Porsche use cheap, centered vinyl lettering that overpowers the PORSCHE name in the rear bumper cover - when they are much more subtle with type designations otherwise?
- Why would they buy mirrors from Kremer - an aftermarket supplier? (they never used aftermarket suppliers, even for their ClubSport racing programs)
- Why would they put a set of (aftermarket) spoilers on that don't flow with the shapes of the car?
- With all the resources they have (designers, modelers, prototype manufacturing - couldn't they make their own [better looking] mirrors and spoilers?
- How did they manage to get 17" Mille Miglia aftermarket wheels at that time? Even the somewhat similar GTS wheels did not go into production until four years later.
- Why are the explanations of the option codes mostly wrong, as Villhuer points out correctly?
- ...
I have a strong feeling this car has been somewhere else before the current owner picked-it up. I would not be surprised, if it had been at Kremer, or even some shady backyard shop. Who knows? I can't say what was, but I can say that this car has no signs of being a factory prototype or one-off. It breaks way too many rules to make it even remotely believable.

I would have to agree it smells fishy. There have been discussions about one off 964 turbo Cabs and cars that were known not to exist and these cars had letters from the factory claiming they were real yet it ended up being the letters were forged and they were modified cars not sold by the factory.
I only know of a few exclusive cars like Robert Lintons 1 off 964 America GS (search Humpty dumpty on 964 forum) ( https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...=humpty+dumpty )and his high HP all 89 turbo cab that took years to build from the factory. Nobody knows what the actual cost to build these cars were but they exceeded most peoples budgets back in the late 80's and 90's. These cars were custom built by the exclusive department and everything was custom made at the factory including the leather faced gages with silk screened numbers and the custom center console with multiple stereo components concealed behind hydraulic actuated leather covered doors. IIRC they used over 50 cow pelts to do the interior of the turbo alone. Most components came from the 959 and the abs system is said to cost over $18k alone. His GS is a cab with special engine and racing tiptronic transmission. The removable hard top has a sunroof also. These cars are well known and one offs with no doubts that they were factory built why would we know about these cars and not something like this?
looks like someone has been building a tower of lies over the years in hopes someday it will be believed by someone and then sell it for a small fortune.
