Greggg:
Even after the cable ajustment you did my shark was not idling properly. Turns out I did have a vacuum leak in the intake as well as several oil hoses that had blown. Also, I had several vacuum lines that were disconnected.
Doz and Dennis Szmt. came by yesterday and we pulled off the intake tubes, replaced the 2 bad oil hoses, reattached the vacuum lines and replaced all the rubber intake sleeves. THANKS DENNIS AND DOZ!! My shark runs much better now, even though I need to pull the intake again to replace some hoses that are likely to begin leaking soon.

Hey Greggg,
Was curious with the according like tubes, this may be a way to keep the air from transfering heat from the engine to the air in the tubes going to intake of the engine. When air is turbuluent it is harder to transfer heat. Maybe another reason Porsche engineered the accordian effect.

Id say the accordian (sp) effect is there soley to allow the tube to be flexible and can be manuevered around with out splitting. the 86 motors for example use the same tubes i beleive. but they have to make a sharper turn to the front of the motor because of the wider intake manifolds.

Hey Doz and Dave! Doz I think your on to something with the shape of the air tubes. I read the post specific about the tubes and I don't agree with some of the blunt logic. Seems some people want to decide the outcome of an issue based off of thier limited perspective, to hell with collecting information!
Dave, I'm glad you fixed the vac leak-it sounded massive!
Talk at u soon!!! <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />
