Default 928's are amazing cars

Soon-to-be-Red did a recent tune up on his 89 S4. It was running very well before the tune up. This is one of the rotors he removed from the 89, and I repeat it was running very well with this rotor!

Amazed!

When I bought my GTS in 2003 it had a couple of similar issues, but was still running just fine.
The belt tensioner boot was half gone and the remaining boot was basically plastic. There was NO oil inside the tensioner.
The automatic tranny filter and the fluid (I guess) was from 1995. At least that it was the imprint on the filter housing said. The filter was full with dirt and all kind of things.

The LH-ECU was partially fried because my PO decided to shorten the tank ventilation valve.

The car ran still fine with all these issues. I actually drove it like this to the convention in Wichita Kansas in 2004. No problems and great gas mileage

There is a reason why some call the shark a tank.

I hope he replaced all of the spark plug wires , there is a reason this rotor is looking the way it does. Might want to also condsider replacing the coil to engine ground wires

Yes I replaced all the plug wires, rotors and caps. The inside of the cap was a little dirty but looked okay. This rotor was from the engine side 1-4 cylinders. The other rotor from engine cylinder side 5-8 looked fine also.
I just couldn't believe the car ran at all much less how well it did run!!
