Post Oil and Trans Cooler

I would like to stop using my radiator for both oil and coolant cooling (as I continue to chase a nearly overheating engine on the race track).

Has anyone put together a parts list on what is needed to connect the existing lines to an oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator (in place of the A/C condensor)?

Thanks!

Why not just bolt in a Devek unit for $780? I've thought about bypassing the radiator too as mine also cools the tranny fluid.

The Devek rad is an easy bolt swap and the write-up sounds convincing. You'll likely have problems with the stock one later anyway, especially if you are racing it.

Just a thought,

I had (still have) a DEVEK radiator that started leaking. Also, since installing a new OEM radiator, I find that it keeps the engine cooler than the DEVEK radiator did.

BTW, the GT has an independent oil cooler, so the radiator it uses is entirely for cooling the coolant.

There are external oil coolers available for 928s. My 86.5S had one that was in front of the AC condensor. YMMV.

Really?! That's good to know. I've heard only good about the DEVEK radiator. I was planning on making the swap in two weeks. It looks as though I'll have to do a little more research on this now.
Thanks,

For those interested,

Sterling is selling a brand new - never used Devek radiator. Go to his website www.928sg.com and drop him an email if you're interested.

Thanks for the comments.

Mark Anderson of 928Intl still runs with a stock radiator, so I am not convinced I will need to change mine... David Lloyd also uses a stock radiator when racing

My understanding is that oil temp runs higher than coolant temp, so separating the two will help both.
