Used 928
My cousin is looking to buy a 928. The euros and the S4 to be specific. If anyone is selling one or know of some good sites to look on I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance

I would start with the used cars listed at
DEVEK Website
928 Specialists Website
Buxton Motorsports - call Brian!
I found my 928s on cars.com. Not as much BS as on ebay and some of the other online resources. Well, I should not say that - one car I looked at was supposedly perfect, but in reality it was a project car... So be aware, and have any car you consider buying inspected by someone with 928 specific experience. Go to the following website to find a mechanic in your area:
928 Mechanics Directory
Best of luck!

He's actually looking to spend at the most 12,000. It must be a Euro model s with 300-330hp 5sp manual trans blk would be prefered but will consider other colors for the right price.

Nicole,
I know you mean well but I personally would not recommend buying from Brian Buxton as the 928 that I had bought from him was not in the condition that was advertised and/or stated. You may recall my post earlier this summer regarding the timing belt light. Turned out Brian’s recommended repair shop botched the t-belt service plus the car needed an additional $2,000 in repairs to make it road worthy putting the total repair bill at $7,300 bucks. O’h well, it’s only money right.

Ken968,
Doesn't look like you stop by the 928 board much but just incase you do...here's another one to look at on EBAY that has 5 days left. Not black or a manual though.

I agree with Tim, Buxton takes a HEALTHY mark up, he damaged his rep on that one and then compounded the botch w/ marginal mechanic recomendation. I would not recommend him. He's kind of like the E-bay discussion here, he puts you in touch with product, but no protection for the buyer, then you still have to have a PPI to protect yourself. If he doesn't care any more than that about his reputation, the why go there? How did I get up on this soapbox? I trust I can get down w/o hurting myself, there, good to be on level ground again.

I think I will chime in here regarding Brian Buxton. Steve, you refer to his mark up on what he sells. He is a dealer and that is how he makes his money. The car in question was owned by him, not brokered out. Even if he still acted as a broker, that is how he makes his living and that is what he is paid to do. I have been by Brians showroom many times and he only deals with clean cars and he represents them better than any other dealer I have ever seen. How many dealers tell you on their website what is wrong with the car? Very few.
Regarding Tim's car. I know that the price was negotiated down to take care of problems that showed up in a PPI. After that it was up to the buyer to make his choice on where to get the work done. Tim, you made the choice to have the shop that was 2500 miles away from you do the work therefore negating any warranty that would come with the work.. If you were in Indiana and had the problems, you could have dropped the car off and they would have taken care of it. Why didn't you have it shipped and then get the work done locally? Then the work would have a warranty. How many times have shops not done the job right, only to make it right for you, and I'm sure the shop in question would have done the same.
Once your deal with Brian was done, you made the deal to have the shop work on it, so how is that Brian's fault? You got an extremely clean , low mileage 928 for a good price. It needed some repairs(which almost all 928's do) and you had a shop do some work that could not be warrantied due to distance. I just don't understand why you keep attacking Brian in various threads.

Ken,
You might want to let your cousin know that with his budget, he might want to look at something else. The 12k will get him a nice car, however he better be prepared for the high insurance cost, plates, and not to forget the maintanence cost.
If he is not aware of how much it cost to drive one of these then the shock could take all of the fun out of it. If he is ready and able to afford it, just have him check out the sites and spend the extra for the PPI. Then he will have a blast.
