Default 86.5 Supermodel trade for an 88 5spd

Well, it's just a thought, but I joined the USAF in Feb 1988 and my 20 years of service is rapidly approaching!

For sentimental reasons, I'd trade my 86.5 (yes SUPERCHARGED) for a stock 88 5 spd in equal condition and with records to back it up. As many here know, I've put a lot of time and effort to maintain a rock solid Shark. She currently has 164K miles on her, but will contend with any another with 64K miles.

Just a post to see how folks will respond while I'm doing a LOT of soul searching.

Sentimental reasons are almost always the wrong way to go in my opinion. I would keep the the 86.5 you have worked on so meticulously and buy a nice 88 5spd in addition to it.

I agree. Keep it and buy a new addition. When I sold my 82 I almost cried. I can't imagine selling the GT.

I graduated in '88 from High School and had some of the same sentiments. Problem is I like the '86.5 better for many reasons. I finally concluded that the only way I'd spring for a '88 is if I got lucky and found a Club Sport for sale in the US. But I'd still keep all of my '86.5s...

Thanks all...I've pondered the idea before, but I wanted to get some feedback and maybe a slap in the face

I'd truely have to cry when when go our seperate ways. She's been an awesome machine and I don't know how I'd react without the POWER, it's an addiction

When I said I've put in a lot of time and effort, I meant to say Tony and I
