Your yanking my chain. Right?

In 2006 there were 42.5 millionaires per 1000 households in New Jersey. That works out to 4.25% of the States households.

The 20th century saw at least seven major 'downturns' in the economy. 1929 comes to mind first.

To qualify as a millionaire (in some venues) they count the total value of their assets....and many homes in some areas easily top a million bucks. New Jersey may be one of those?

Whitman County in Washington State is said to have more millionaires per capita than any county in the nation....yet Whitman county is a very small, rural, agricultural community....and the many farms there (on paper) are worth over a million dollars...but some of these "millionaire" farmers barely make a living.

And to make things worse, regulations make it difficult to subdivide and sell your farm. So many are stuck with a lot of expensive dirt.

Very true.

The average starter home in NJ, 900 square foot on a 25 x 60 foot lot sells for $500k, most average homes that sell for $200k to $400k elsewhere to are well into the Million $ mark. I have a half acre of land in Hoboken I can sell for between 9 and 10 million. Ten years ago I could have sold it for $600k It is true that based on this more than 79% of most (income earning) people in NJ are millionaires.

Look at BJ auctions last night people are still buying, they just have finally come to their senses and are not over spending because they realize what these things are truly worth. They got caught up in all the excitement a few years back and weren't thinking as clearly as they are today. The economy might be bad by you but it is not so bad here. I don't see the tell tail changes of a recession yet. But only time will tell.

I stopped by and took a look at that GTS. Holy **** - someone got a SMOKING deal for 27k. (in addition to all the comissions and fee) It was a very clean ride and the new owner should be quite pleased. The tire and wheel package alone was quite $$$. (Custom 3.6 Allurad 3-piece wheels) Ill be posting pictures in another thread.

84K miles - The only disadvantage of looking at the car was that there was a layer of AZ dust covering her.

All in all - a very SWEET ride.

I should of put a Rennlist card under the wiper blade.

I see what your saying about what I wrote. I did not complete my thought. What it should have said was you should change this to There hasn't been a down turn in the economy in the 20th century that didn't result in the value of gold going up and the value of collectible cars going down.

I was trying to separate the previous century from this one.. I never saw any down turn in 2000 around here yet other parts of the country were hit hard, I also don't see any down turn now and others are complaining. So I guess it is all relative.

How true. Used to be a mile square cesspool, now it is a hoping city filled with amazing looking women and lots of very wealthy people. It changes every month and real estate is untouchable. Although the politicians are still the same.

I agree with Drew, the GTS looked great... from 5' away... The dust made it hard to tell, but for some reason I felt the car MAY have been repainted (maybe it was just the excess paint on the door locks?). Wasn't able to see the engine. The interior looked in pretty good shape through the windows and like Drew said, the wheel/tire combe looked awesome! BUT... the replacement antenna was wrong (skinny and wimpy), no belly pan, middle of front spoiler pushed back, fog/driving lights cracked. Only spent a few minutes going over it, but it did make me wonder what else may be missing and/or neglected. It COULD be a smokin' deal for someone... then again, dependiing on drivetrain condition, could be a money pit... Oh, BTW Drew, I'm pretty sure it was an auto.

I too looked for the GT, but couldn't find it. Would have loved to look at that one too...

Does anyone know how much they sold for?
Edit: Nevermind, the GTS brought $27k and the GT brought $22k
