Default Last ride

That is it for my 928 driving season. It is now officially over for me. There is snow in the forecast for later today, so I figured I would drive my car today for the final time before putting her away for the winter.

It was a nice ride capped off with a triple digit stretch and a big smile. Man I love this car- it is amazing how well the 928 pulls in cooler weather.

During my run I stopped to get a coffee at Starbucks and as I pulled in I couldn’t believe what I saw- a beautiful Audi R8! I didn’t think that they were available in the states yet, but here is one sitting in front of me. As I was admiring it, the owner came out, and low and behold – the R8 belongs to Joe Kramer of Aerosmith. Apparently we had the same idea today to take one last blast down the highway.

I snapped a picture of it from my cell while I was pulling in. Sorry no Kramer photos- he was in a rush, but he gave the thumbs up on the 928.

Great story!
Knew that Aerosmith was a Boston band. The sleet hit us yesterday and I was out in the OB as it arrived. Car doesn't handle badly, but it may have seen its last drive for awhile.

It will be a few months, but you'll be Back in the Saddle Again...

you guys need to drive the 928 year round, as I do.

I just took it out last week on our snow covered highway to go to a concert, fun trip but you need to pay ALOT of attention, had the rears wanting to break free in 5th gear at 115kmph under very light throttle.

You're brave!

I have a difficult enough time staying off the throttle in cold weather to keep the back end planted. Seriouslly with 245 SO2's I can break the tires loose in third gear on cold pavement, can't imagine what snow would be like.

Cool Kevin. I was hoping to get out this weekend but I still have the shifter apart. Was it the Starbucks in Marshfield?

I was planning the same thing for today, but the snow beat me. It began earlier then they had predicted and we already had a nice slippery coating by the time I got out of bed. Oh well, it gave me time to install moulding in my basement. Almost as much fun, eh???

When the hell does Spring start? I hate winter already...

Well I have decided to go and put actual winter tires on the 87 which the other half drives as it is just alittle too slippery, I have yet to see how my 81 is though, should be interesting with those 275 on the rear.

I also took my last ride yesterday due to the fact that we were supposed to get snow today, and they were right, glad I had that last ride in , and topped off the gas, gotta give her a good polish then the cover goes on, and she is officially tucked in for the winter.

Wheels are off so she sits on stands for the winter and I'm half way into the intake R&R project.

-20C and a good 30cm of snow...........skis, skates and ice fishing are poor subs.

Need a 2nd home in Tx.

Off the road? I do not understand of what you speak. I'm driving it to work tomorrow for the first time, can't wait! Anyone want to buy an original ski rack?

Moon928, last Friday afternoon I saw a silver S4 at a stoplight in Charlestown/Boston making a turn onto Rt-1, and I did a major double-take because I rarely see 928s... any chance that was you?

Mr. Lutz... yeah yeah Destin sure is beautiful, but its snowing here now... please don't torture us!

I'm all put to bed for the winter as well. I jumped the gun before the first snowfall.

It was a sad day in my house........

Hijacked thread???

The man said Aerosmith.

Shoot the bull with “Train Kept Rolling”. Certainly note worthy.

Weather in the south is warm than the north, not note worthy.

I bet that was a good cup of coffee.

Afshin- you are correct it was Marshfield. I have been told Steven Tyler also frequents that location quite often as well.

Chris- if it was last week it wasnt me. I was in town near Mass General a couple of weeks ago and in the North End but not on route 1.

They salted the roads late Sunday and Monday so there is no way my car will be on the road.

Bob- My favorite Aerosmith driving toon is MAMA KIN.

MCV200 - how are the wheels? Do you still have them?

Moon
