Heck, my '81 makes roughly 320 torque at the crank, with a little exhaust work (~250 hp). It is a whole different experience than the stock 256.

it's an old argument about why folks put a SBC in a 928.......

the biggest thing, it seems to me, is that when one buys one of these and the timing belt goes south----if the owner is tired of the TB issues, a SBC goes in if the guy is going to keep the car.

I could make the same argument, and have, for changing to a different brand of stroker, as opposed to building a 928 stroker, but that's another discussion.....

Russ I'm with you. I decided long before I bought my OB that I would put a LS1 in my car if the motor went. However after driving the car now for a few months I've grown to like it more every day. Not sure if I would swap the motors now or not. I'm selling the 98 Trans Am and may buy a newer 928 with the money. I'd like to keep the 98 but just don't have the room for all these toys. Jason

L82 Stock never made more than 220hp, though I would have to see proof that sbc weighs more than the porsche. Don't get me wrong I love my Chevys but if he is going to do this and put it out as a show car he could at least make the speedo/Tach work.
