I always thought that red wires were more high performance; just like a red car!!

That including the ends, or just the wires?

I'm sure that's just the wires.

I bought my "just wires" from Mark R. While it was a great deal, as Sean R pointed out, you still need to check the resistance of all your end caps - I had one that was non-stock and had to be replaced, and another that was bad.

And then re-wiring all of these is a significant amount of work. It's not hard, it's just tedious, particularly getting all the mounts put back on. If I were doing it again, I think I'd just buy the full kit.

I agree, 99 does seem low for the ends as well.. but you never know..

I've used Magnecor on several cars. He will custom make them for you as well. No extra charge. I like them. I use them & will continue to use them. No complaints. He has several different levels also.

I just installed a set of red BERU wires from Roger and used the original connectors. Checked the resistance in all wires and all checked out. This took about one afternoon of work and a few evenings to get it perfect.
I took my time with the job and it was very easy and direct. Just use lots of WD40 to lube things up so the wires slide for adjustments.
Performance is excellent.

I checked the resistance on all my spark plugs ends and I have between 2.75 and 3.14 Ohm(2.83, 3.14, 2.75, 3.10, 2.97, 2.81, 3.04 and 2.94). I know it should be 3 Ohm but are those numbers fine or bad?

Thank You.

I've had Magnecor KV85 on my SE for the last 6 years. Still look like new.

They don't make a better spark than a new beru set, but at the time I purchased them they were cheaper than Beru.

I would guess they are physically more robust than the Beru wires.

Once you reach the point of having enough spark, going with a bigger coil, better plugs and even wires means nothing. Once you can burn most of your fuel, you are done, you will see no performace gain. Plug wires are a very hyped up product with no real performance gains. Quality on construction may affect longevity.

Since the spark plug is basically a resistor, think of it this way... Does having thicker, better shielded wire make a 60w light bulb brighter? Only if the original wire is too small to handle the current flow.

I got the magnacore because they were cheaper than stock and performed every bit as well. Plus they are red, which help to get the chicks.

The HEI MSD ends and wire are low cost and you can roll the perfect length if you have a crimper.
You can get distributor ends too.
I really like the MSD plug ends because they will let the heat out of the porcelin.
