WTB!!Transmission part needed ASAP
I need the plastic connector that goes on the transmission end of the kickdown cable for an 86 automatic, desperately. I also could use advice on the best way to attach this piece to my cable without removing it.

86 Auto ? You have an 87 Autoaccording to your sig.
This connector changed at some point between 85MY (definitely 16v ROW cars) and 89.
The only way to change it is to carefully cut open the metal "eye" piece (connects to the wire hook inside the tranny) on the end of the inner cable so you can prise it open where it is crimped onto the cable and remove it from the cable without cutting the cable. Then remove the White plastic connector and replace it with the new one that fits the tranny you have in the car.
Then crimp the metal eye back onto the inner cable and silver solder or braze it into place as the cut open crimps will nol onger be strong enough.
Had to do this when we swapped an 89 AT into a 16V 85. Didn't realise we had to swap the cable until all was back together and we weren't about to drop the TT again just to change a cable.

I am fairly certain that the 85 and 86 MY are the same, Jon if your buddy has that piece I would like to have it next day shipped if we can confirm its the same piece.

Next day deliver from Australia will cost an arm and a leg. There has to be someone that has one on this continent.

I think I may have come up with a way to modify my existing cable attachment, I will find out tomorrow if it works. Also, there is a shift cable mount that is different on the 86, I ordered one from 928 intl. today, does anyone know if it mounts the cable in the same general location?
