Rob, Greg, or RKD

Did you ever sort your GTS's speedo, diff control, and ABS problem?

Cleaned my ABS sensors and grounds today and checked the ABS fuse. Didn't have spare relay for the ABS as it looks different then standard 53's (it had part # 928 615 124 01).

Yep, mine was cured by disconnecting the battery and unplugging the ABS brain harness connector, and DeOxit-ing the connector pins (all freaking 55 of them.) I didn't have to replace (or pull the guts out of) the accelerometer. I never did figure out the pinouts to the 55 pin connector for checking resistance to each sensor at the connector. That info would be good to have for future troubleshooting.

You mean the connector pins on the ABS brain in the driver side fender well?

Ok, cleaned all ABS sensors and their perspective grounds, and cleaned the connector on the ABS module and it's perspective ground in the driver side wheel well. Then cleaned the ABS brain 55-pin connector on the driver's kick panel under the dash. Also disconnected battery for 24 hours.

No dice, still have the issue.

I checked the fuse, it's good. I guess the relay may be bad, I'll locate one and try it.

Also going to try swapping the front ABS sensors left to right, to see if the left one is bad (it sends the signal for the speedo, abs, trac control and cruise).

Does anybody have any other ideas?

While there check the resistance on the ABS (Speed) sensors. Make sure too that all sensors are not grounded.
You should have between 800 to 1800 ohms between the two pins on the ABS connector and infinate from each connector pin to ground.

I had a problem about a month ago with the PSD shutting off and it was a grounded rear sensor.

When my accelerometer under the driver's eat came unplugged I got Diff Control OFF and ABS faults but speedo still worked.

Yeah, figured the speedo not working as well as the other items would rule out an accelerometer problem, but I checked it anyway and made sure it was plugged in securely. Haven't had time to get the car up on the lift again and swap front ABS sensors.

I'd be interested too to find out the end result on this. I just picked up my 91 and sure enough speedo, odo, diff and abs not working. I'm not impressed

I'm having the same issue (lights/fault just came on!). Don't know if includes the speedo; I'll know on the way to C&C tomorrow morning.....

Chuck, do you have both the diff and abs warning?
Interested too to know what's going on.

Any Progress on this issue? I too have the PSD/ ABS errors upon starting the car - not moving.

Does anyone have a spanner in the Austin area?

Thanks
Bil

So.... anybody with the PSD/ABS-off warning used a Hammer or Theo-tool to get a code?

Might help.

But, it is unlikely that all with the same symptom have the same cause.

Easiest thing to check 1st is the 55-pin connector at the ABS brain on the driver side kick panel. Make sure the pins are clean and it's plugged in securely. Then check relay and fuse on the panel.
