Women of Rennlist Calender

I'm posting this on behalf of the WOR .......

******************************
This year the women of Rennlist, known as the WOR's on Off Topic, have decided to put together a 2008 Calendar with all the Proceeds (after production and mailing costs) to go to Project Rennwish. The Calendar will feature 12 WOR's with their Porsche's. The pictures will reflect each WOR's distinct personality.

Right now we need your help in trying to figure out how many Rennlister's would be interested in purchasing a WOR calendar. The cost will be approximately $20.00? We need to come up with a round about number before we can go into production so we don't run short, or even worse, order too many calendars.

So, how about it? Would you buy one? Or two? Or three??? :)

COME on it's for a GREAT CAUSE!!! Whatcha say?

***********************

If you could post back to this thread or email me privately at jmunson@rennlist.com if you would be interested that would be greatly appreciated!

-Jenn

Alan

123quattro 10-03-2007 05:11 PM

There is. Leslie sp? is in it.

Shane 10-03-2007 05:25 PM

Would it be possible to set up a paypal account to preorder or to just go ahead and order one now? I'd order one now and wait till production was done before receiving it.

Ralph Newman 10-03-2007 05:46 PM

Sign me up. I will just cut off the bottom half that has all that date stuff on it so I have more room on the wall.
No kidding I will take one.
Thanks

Leslie 928 S2 10-03-2007 05:57 PM

You got the spelling correct, 123quattro... and yes, I'm in it!

Go check out the Calendar thread in OT if you want to see a few teaser shots of some of the girls...including my 928 shot. (They start appearing around post 350 or so...)

WOR Calendar thread

Make them gifts for Christmas! Pimp them to your friends and family, too! :D I've already sold two to my dad, and one to an office co-worker, just by sharing my calendar photo and telling the story... Dad's not a p-car owner, but he does appreciate an assortment of fine cars and women (especially when his daughter is involved :) ), just like most guys. He's also into helping a good cause.

Order lots and lots, guys!

I think you will get more interest if you post a few teaser pics here. Most aren't going to want to wade through hundreds of posts to see a couple of pics. And non members can't access OT. Just a thought.

Leslie 928 S2 10-04-2007 10:56 AM

Good point! Okay, I'll leave the choice up to the other girls whether they will post here or not, but I can certainly show my picture...

Drum roll, please!

Leslie,

Love the heels. My wife has a simular pair I wear when autocrossing. I find a 3" heel helps with the "Heel-Toe" downshifting going into the turns.

Great idea. Sign me up for one. I say, "Lady's run what ya brung" not worried about everyone having the same theme. I like the diversity.

Ron V 10-04-2007 02:23 PM

I'll take one.

88 Shark 10-04-2007 02:55 PM

I'm in, do we pay now or later?

RJT 10-04-2007 03:11 PM

Pay later when you do the actual ordering of the calendar. Leslie is the production manager and will post soon how to pay and when.......

You guys are Great!!
~JoAnne

PS: Here's my 'preview'. It's not a 928, but I don't think you guys hate 356's do you?

OK, my interest is piqued. Don't know which way you are going with this: Leslie's black dress or clean-under-the-machine, but I vote for at least half of the photos for "clean under." Keep working with that. The traditional formal pose beside the car is hard to pull off b/c well Snap On, etc have done that. And this needs to be something different. I would love to read all the PMs that are flying around this, fly-on-the-wall.

Leslie 928 S2 10-04-2007 05:47 PM

Steve, we're all doing something a little different, so there should be pics of all shades and varieties. You'll get my black dress, and Jo's under the car shot. You will definitely to find something you like!

dr bob 10-04-2007 07:07 PM

I think the white outfit under the car says a lot about how clean that 356 is. It's a show stopper for those playing along at home. It was probably two or three hours of cleaning under there before it was safe to wear white, right? ;)

Leslie 928 S2 10-05-2007 11:02 AM

Good morning everyone! By my count, as of 10:00 this morning, we have 105 calendar purchases committed to across the various forums. Good job, guys!

But we really want to do better, so help us sell more by bringing in business from outside the 'List too, if you can! :D

In order to start getting this all nailed down in one place though (because I want to be sure no one gets missed through 5 separate threads), now that we're starting to get the word out, would everyone please start PM'ing me with their name, address, and number of calendars desired, so that I can start preparing the mailing labels and figuring out how many need to be ordered, etc. And if you want to pay by check or money order, rather than Paypal, please also indicate that in your PM. Eventually, I will send you a mailing address for that once we figure out the logistics.

Thanks guys!!

EDIT: BTW, I believe we are leaning towards charging a little extra for those who choose to use Paypal, to cover the transaction fees -- don't want to short the kids. So if you choose that route, you will pay an extra $1.50-$2.00, or thereabouts. More on that later.

EDIT 2: It has just been pointed out to me that some of you will be ordering from outside the country. Count on an additional mailing fee for your orders, over and above Paypall fees, as well.

Shark Attack 10-05-2007 11:42 AM

since its for rennwish Ill buy a few

Where's the Free Trade love?

Let me guess; USPS classifys the border as forgein/international and charges accordingly.

not directed at the effort Leslie; just frustration over the time and $$$ it takes to get goods back and forth.

On a more positive thought; would it be cheaper to mass ship to one Canadian destination and then ship Nationally from there? I could help if it saves $$$ from going to the shippers vs the real intention of this effort.

Leslie 928 S2 10-05-2007 01:09 PM

Ooooo...I like your thinking, Malcolm. That might be pretty cool...how long do you think it would take for something like this to make it over your borders, anyway? Would it get held up in customs or some ****e?? And then how long would it take an average package to get from you to someone else?

Actually, I wasn't pointing fingers at Canada so much as the UK, etc. Someone from the UK was asking me more details about the calendar which is when it occurred to me that, "Hey, postage ain't gonna just be a buck or two to England!"

the flyin' scotsman 10-05-2007 01:21 PM

Leslie.............I'm more than willing to distribute within Canada. The calendars would arrive from here to their end destination within a few days from mailing.

As to the 'customs' question why dont we discuss over PM.

BTW........its 'our' border. :jumper:

Leslie 928 S2 10-05-2007 01:49 PM

Malcolm, yes, let's talk customs...

And...it may be 'our' border, but it's 'your' customs that is holding everything up...so it's 'your' borders that are the problem! :p

Leslie 928 S2 10-06-2007 04:02 PM

Hi Guys...Just a reminder (or a heads up, if you haven't read through the whole thread) that you should be starting to send me PMs with your name, address, number of calendars desired, and preferred method of payment, so that I can start the process of getting mailing labels ready and figuring out how many need to be ordered.

Thanks!

RicerSchnitzzle 10-06-2007 07:27 PM

I'm in for one, but still think a teaser collage in low res would build sales. I think I've only seen 2 or 3 of the 12 pics. Don;t think many would just steal the pics and make thier own...it's for charity after all.

Good morning everyone! As of this morning, I have only 48 calendar purchases from 37 people confirmed in my PM's. Time's running out so start PM'ing, please, guys!

Reminder: It's not enough to just send me a PM...I actually need your name, mailing address, number of desired calendars, and preferred method of payment in there too, ok? :D

ROG100 10-16-2007 09:10 PM

I just sent my PM to Leslie for the 10 I have purchased.
I hope I get invited to the pre release private viewing.
I plan to auction some of them at Third Coast and pass the money back to WoR.
Double Bubble so to speak 8>)

Angela R 10-16-2007 09:22 PM

Thank you Roger! I'm not sure if they will all be printed by Third Coast........but you could certainly do some sort of voucher for them.

ROG100 10-16-2007 09:36 PM

No problem - you could do an impromtu photo session to "raise" the interest prior to the auction.
Remind me not to post when I have already been imbibing 8>)

ROG100 10-16-2007 09:39 PM

Those H4's on your car sure look good 8>)

pscottjr 10-17-2007 12:26 AM

Roger. Roger, Roger......

I sent a PM for three. That Texas request was just....

Roger, I would like to bid on your calendars at the third coast event. However, not sure yet that I will make it. If I do we (9 year old daughter and I) will come. Blah, Blah...wife is out of town, son Bday, wants to go to Vegas. Maybe I can drive to third coast, have wife pickup daughter in Dallas, drive 928 home to SA, I can fly to Vegas from DFW to meet son.......

Thanks for all of you gals hard work on the calendars.

Leslie 928 S2 10-17-2007 04:33 PM

It's that time! Yup, here's the moment you have been waiting for. I have finally determined all of the details for the calendar purchase, but please don't just jump to the bottom and start making payments, please read this whole post!

FIRST, I HAVE AN INCREDIBLE ANNOUNCEMENT.
We have been honored by one of our own, an amazing Anonymous Angel, who has graciously asked for "permission" to pay for the entire cost of production, including shipping to me from Shutterfly, of up to 350 calendars, or 50 over our order, whichever is less!!
:jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:
This Angel says he doesn't want his money back, he just wants to ensure that plenty of calendars are sold, and that no one (that would probably be me) gets stuck out of pocket with a bunch of calendars that didn't sell.

(OCBen, you are now officially forbidden by the Angel to pester me anymore about getting better printing deals or anything else.

:roflmao: :icon107: )

So....what does this mean to us? The result is that 90% or more of your purchase price will be going to Rennwish, and not to various expenses! It also means that we can offer the calendars at a flat $20 each, without requring extras for postage and Paypal fees, because we are going to make plenty of money for Rennwish. We won't clear just a measly $5-6 per calendar as originally planned, but instead, approximately $17 of each Paypal sale will go to Rennwish, and of each check or money order sale, approximately $18 will go to Rennwish. This is not saying that you can't add on to your Paypal or check if you wish to. If you wish to ensure that all $20 goes to Rennwish, you can add an extra $2 (or $3 if paying by Paypal), and that will net $20 for Rennwish. (Those of you who are out of country should make a personal decision whether you wish to add extra for the extra cost of postage -- that figure would be pure speculation on my part at this point.)

Before you ask...why will only $17 or $18 go to Rennwish if you pay $20? Shutterfly informs me that flat US postage for each calendar will run $2.16. If you use Paypal, that will cost an extra $1.00. So, if you wish to tack on extra, that will be appreciated, but with the Angel's assistance, we are going to make so much for Rennwish now, I feel we can do a flat $20, and still make a very nice donation.

So, now comes the important part:

If you said you preferred to pay with Paypal, the payment address is: WORCalendar@yahoo.com. That is open for business as of right now.

If you indicated to me that you would be paying by check or money order, I will PM each of you before the end of this week with the payee and mailing address information (sorry, but I don't want it all over the web).

If you previously told me you wanted to pay by Paypal, and now wish to change to check/money order, please send me another PM and I will give you that information as well.

However, please note....I'm setting up a second checking account with my bank to handle this money, so as not to get it mixed in with my own budget, so if you are sending me a check, it will be a couple of weeks before those checks clear back to your account because my second account is still in process of being opened.

ONE FINAL THING -- VERY IMPORTANT!!
I am basing the number of calendars I order on the PM'S I RECEIVE, so PLEASE DO NOT SEND A PAYMENT WITHOUT A PM.
Otherwise you might not get a calendar!

Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and donations to Rennwish. You're all champions to the WOR!

UPDATE: 215 calendars ordered by 156 people so far! Nice!!! Keep 'em coming, guys!!

Leslie 928 S2 11-01-2007 03:38 PM

A little birdy told me this weekend that some people have sent me PMs requesting calendars and I have not gotten back to them. If you are one of those people who has not received a response from me, I offer my profuse apologies. I thought I was being very careful to go through my inbox methodically and not miss anything, so I cannot say whether I am having technical issues, or simply having senior moments, but I beg your forgiveness and ask you to please contact me again.

I have well over 400 PMs from 220+ people in my inbox these days...so please don't take this the wrong way, but it will take way more hours than I have to go back through every PM and figure out who I'm missing. :icon107:

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

WE HAVE OVER 320 CALENDARS SOLD!!! WOOO HOOOOO!!!

F4GIB 11-01-2007 05:16 PM

I'll take 2.

Leslie 928 S2 11-15-2007 03:40 PM

So here's an update on where we are. The deadline for getting your reservations in to me is November 20 (next Tuesday), but that's really just a date I pulled out of my head many weeks ago. It isn't written in stone. In reality, I can accommodate last minute Paypal orders up until Sunday, 11/25. If you contact me on or after 11/21 for a Calendar, plan to pay by Paypal, as there won't be sufficient time to mail me a check, what with the holiday weekend. If you are sending me a check and have not done so yet, I HIGHLY recommend you get the check into the mail by TOMORROW, as there are not many banking days next week.

My plan is to place the printing order on Monday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving (11/26 or 27). I should have them back by early December (Shutterfly says approximately 1 week delivery), and as soon as they arrive I'll start mailing them out, starting with out-of-country packages first, to give them the maximum time to reach their destinations.

So that's it! Now, what to do about the few that contacted me early for a calendar and then never got back to me with mailing information, etc.? Shall I post all their screen names for public humiliation and ridicule? :roflmao:

Alan 11-15-2007 03:50 PM

Heck - Why Not? :bigbye:

After all its for a good cause

Alan

Leslie 928 S2 11-25-2007 02:11 PM

So, today's pretty much the last day for getting calendar orders in. We have a total of 435 reserved as of now, with about 40 payments still waiting to be receivecd. I think we will order only 450, unless a lot more payments show up today or tomorrow. So, guys, if you've been waiting to the last minute to pay up, it's the last minute now! It's your final chance!
