Windshield washers

Does any know the proper way to remove (and not damage) windshield washers? I need to pull them off to re-attach a hose. Or...do I have to re-attach from beneath?

Thanks!

The winshield washer hose is connected to the hood nozzles on the underside of the hood. You should find 2 circular plastic poices one on each side about the size of a silver dollar.

If you carefully pop them out - you should see the hoses and how they connect. If you are having problems with leakage - there could be a bad 'y' fitting, or possibly a failure where the hoses connect to the check valves as well.

Should you need to rebuild the system, tie a piece of string (~5 ft) on the drivers side hose piece. Carefully pull the hose assembly out from the passenger side and untie the string (being VERY careful to leave the string running through both holes in the hood). Make the repairs that you need, then retie the string on the hose assembly and pull it back through. Make the connections to the nozzles and check for proper operation.
