I have pictures, just not allowed to post them...
BTW, I received a PM yesterday from someone who might be willing to sell me their CF hood. Will let you know what, if anything, happens.

Andrew, my .02. Strip your hood down to bare aluminum. Clearcoat it, then have the hood tinted nearly black. Your hood would look like the smoked tail lights you see on ricers. Way too much work, but mean.

To really trip'em out, repaint the hood with them temperature dependent color shifting paint.
"See" that heat come through the hood.

^ Ah, the rare early '70s "Mood" hood, larger cousing to the ever popular Mood Ring.
AO Minismo-son, if you pass on the hood, please pass the PM on to me. Even a flat stock CF hood with a couple CF Bonnet vents added would be tough looking.

There is an unused invader style CF hood in Southern California. Search the archives here at Rennlist and you may find it. There was a guy about a year and a half ago who was trying to get rid of it and as far as I know, he never sold it. The invader style was the one that had the hood bulge in the middle.

The stock hood looks like it is a stamped frame with a flat sheet on top placed on top. The sides of the top sheet are wrapped around the frame, then welded at the corners. If i'm right about this it should be possible to get a bent hood, cut the corner welds and pull the top sheet off the frame. Then you could replace the top sheet with whatever you wanted. PC, flat sheet of CF, etc.

Not sure why you'd want a CF look when its already very light aluminum from the factory. If you wanted to show off the race tech in the hood, just strip the paint and polish the aluminum...

Andrew,
As a former sign company and graphics company owner for 11 years, I recommend going to the local reputable graphics shop and they can set you up with the carbon fiber overlay right onto your existing hood. I have also seen some cool combinations of airbrushed fade effects done with outdoor inkjet machines, then overlayed with a single or double carbon fiber insert, to make a multi-dimensional look.
