I read up on the procedure to replace the radiator and it didn't seem too hard. The worst part would be, like you said, probably having to replace some hoses which I'm sure I wouldn't have immediately available to me. Then the one afternoon radiator swap would turn into a two weekend job.
I'd like to track down a copy of the original maintenance book for my model year to read up on Porsche's recommended service schedule. I couldn't find one on ebay - yet.

I haven't personally brought my car to Hi-Teck, but I have reciepts for a tranny rebuild, clutch, a few radiators, and tons more from them. I have done a timing belt and water pump myself along with two radiators, shocks, exhaust, and much more. There isn't anyone in Santa Cruz that works on 928s, so I have to work on it myself.

He was refering to mechanical neglect - like skipping maintenance, etc.

Andre, I thought your license had been jerked by now. Did you go to Mexico to get another one?

I just moved to Danville and CT Automotive was recommended to me, they're in Campbell (not sure if that's too far for you). It was more expensive than what I was used to, but that's been the case for everything I've bought since I moved to California. The work they did seems good. They had the car for a while, but that was due to a backordered part that had to come from Germany, didn't hold it against them.

Does anyone have any information on Heyer Performance in Mountain View?

They are walking distance from my house. It would be great to be able to drop my car off for service and be able to simply walk home without having to arrange for a ride.

Here is something I found on another thread on this forum currently:
"Car serviced regularly at Vanguard Motors, Porsche Specialist garage in San Francisco. " This refers to the GTS for sale in Davis. FWIW.
