In San Francisco, has anyone ever brought their cars to:
1. Aldo's Performance: Sutter and Larkin?
2. AVR, on Ellis St.?
Would like to hear of any good/bad experience, send me a PM.
Thanks

No one knows 928s better than Chris at CT Automotive. Its worth the 30min drive south to san jose if you have a problem or need a big job done!

Maintenance is one thing, but you want the tough stuff done by guys that really know their stuff. rebuilding transmissions, engine exchange, etc, all are done well at CT, not to mention diagnosis of gremlins, and common repairs on a 928 that can be challenging for most!

I just found out last week that the local Porsche dealer (Fletcher Jones Porsche in Fremont) has at least one 928 expert on board. This one guy has worked on them for years, and has had all the factory trainings.

You need to swing by my house! I have some gifts for you that I won't be using but bet you will. Call it an early Christmas special, and I need space in the garage too
Complete factory Porsche engine removal harness, with under car support, and the spider for putting an engine on a rolling stand.
Have to supply the shop with factory tools, right?

How do you arrange dropping the car off and picking it up all the way from Santa Cruz? I like the guys at Hi-Tech but I called about a month ago and left a message to schedule an appointment but didn't get a call back. I'll try and schedule an appointment with them in the next few weeks to install a new radiator and do an oil change. I'm still not sure if I should attempt the tb/wp change myself or just let them do it. I'd kind of like to do it just for the experience.

you can replace the radiator yourself, but be forwarned you may also get involved in replacing some of if not all of the side tank cooler lines while your in there, if you do it yourself you can remove the lines and have them refitted with new hose at a hose rebuild shop

Just because my paint is faded and the clear coat is pealing does not reflect the care in the mechanical world! Paint is only there to make it look fast, but I want it to be fast first.

There is someone advertizing on the Local Craig's list in Santa Clara as Renn Shop. They are offering parts and service. I assume there is no relation to Renn List. I sent a request of parts prices but never got a reply. Are these people a spin off of the failed DEVEK?
