Snaps on Luggage Cover??
The luggage cover in my '82 US 928 has two tabs with snaps on them, located on the central crossbar afoot or so in from each end. There seem to be no corresponding snaps anywhere in the car or on the luggage cover that I can find. What are these for?

On my (later) cover, there are mating snaps on the section of the cover that goes forward from that bar. Total of four snaps-- the ones you describe, and one at eiother end of that bar. The forward section folds into three sections, so when folded and snapped together that section is the right size to drop straight down to just contact the floor of the luggage area when the rear seats are in the normal upright position. The snaps are fitted to the tabs only for those middle positions.
Rebuilding the luage cover is on my too-doo list. I pulled the old cover out to get some dimensions for fabric, and more of it cracked/tore/failed/fell off. It's in good enough shape to use as a pattern though. There's a lot of care and craftsmanship in the original cover. A simple replacement won't be too tough, but getting all the details the same as the original is going to at least double the effort. I do have a set of donor hardware from Shane that will be used for the replacement, so at least I can keep what's left of the original intact to make sure the new one matches. Black upholstery-grade Sunbrella is at the top of my fabric candidate list right now too. Not as stretchy as the original fabric, be that good or bad.
