Default Machine Shops in Bay Area near Fremont

This is and isn't 928 related. So after hearing my wife's CV joint click and clunk for several months the joint has pretty much fused itself to the wheel bearing which is pressed into the hub. Needless to say I need a decent shop that can press the bearing out and press the new one in.

Is there a good shop in Fremont? Close to Fremont?

It is 928 related cause if the shop does decent work I'll trust them to deal with my rear wheel bearings

Thanks,
Paul

I believe Jim Morton, who has a GTS and is in the W.C./Concord area has a machine shop. I could be wrong, but you might want to look him up and talk to him about your needs.

May be too far, but for CV's and related axle / bearing stuff, my favorite automotive machine shop, Tri Valley Machine, is great at this sort of stuff. 925-682-3798.

FWIW, my own shop is oriented towards fabrication and machining... mills / lathes and some welding. Hopefully, some cool 928 pieces will be coming along shortly.

Thanks for the information but Tri Valley is a bit far for the Subi but I'll keep them in mind for my 928.

Try this guy: German Precision, Sunnyvale, right off of Hwy 237 and Lawrence Expressway. Ted Robinson. 408-747 0728. Tell him you're a friend of Ron_H at your peril, of course. (0nly kidding) Lots of years of P car machine experience dating back to Garretson's. Nice guy. He'll even school you in the joys of the ultra right. (not that I would know anything about that of course) Ask him to tell you a joke (aw, you don't have to ask....he'll tell you one or two when you call before you introduce yourself.
