Art,
We haven't solidified the plans yet, but I'm thinking 10:30-11:00 for the meet, then we'll get some brunch and then head out for a fun ride. The whole thing should be done by early afternoon I would think.

Cal,
Avalon is WAAAAAYYY down there. We're talking about meeting somewhere near the eastern end of 195, between Belmar and Point Pleasant, then going for a fun drive up Rt 18. I don't expect it to last beyond 2-3pm, so anyone coming from far away can make it back, but I'm not sure.
Let us know your availability and we'll see what we can do.
Anyone that's considering it, please let me know your availability and likelihood of attending and we'll try to accommodate as many as possible.

Hi Mike,
It's looking better and better that Kevin and I will be able to make it. I've already rescheduled the dental cleaning I had scheduled for that morning, and the cars are behaving, so things are promising at this point.
We'll plan to be there by 10:30 am. Mike, could you estimate how long of a drive should we figure on? We live 20 minutes directly west of the GWB on Route 4, essentially. We are something like 5 minutes from the Garden State Parkway, exit 165'ish.
Does anyone else who is traveling from up north want to caravan with us?

Hi Leslie,
That's great news. I think we were just thinking about a drive up Route 18 from the end (at 195) up toward Freehold somewhere. Not a very long one, just about 10-12 miles to stretch the legs a bit. It's really more about the GTG than the drive for this first one.

More and more I think I'm maybe sort of definitely coming
It now depends entirely on how my spine gets. Had an epidural today, hopefully the only one I will need, but possibly the first in a series of three. If you've never tried this (epidural in the neck), it's right up there with driving your shark directly into a stone wall at 100 mph , seat-belt unsecured and no airbag. And I say that even before the anaesthetic has worn off. But I am always hopeful, so count me in!

Rhys,
Here's hoping I can just take your word for that shot in the neck. Hope you're OK to make the trip.
Leslie,
Sorry, I'd guess about an hour from 165. I think 195 is at exit 100 or so. Then from the Parkway exit we'll try to keep it pretty close, so maybe 10-15 minutes from there? Unless you hit traffic you shouldn't have to leave home before 9-9:15.
For the fun drive, I've never been on one so I don't know how to put it together. Plus the roads around here are pretty congested. Maybe for the next one we can get someone from out west or northwest to plan one where there are nice twisties.

Art,
We're still a go. I was at Adam's place this weekend and confirmed the plan to meet there at the end of the short 'fun run' for a tech session and possibly some burgers for anyone that sticks around.
I'm looking for a head count before the end of this week so I can make final arrangements. Please send me a PM or post to this thread if you can definitely make it.
The details will follow on this thread, including directions, but so far it looks like:
10:30-11:00- meet at local shore diner (my treat for out-of-staters)
11:00-12:00ish have some brunch
12:00-? fun run along the shore and then up Rt 18 from rt 138 to Rt 79 (Freehold)
---Tech session to follow at Adam and Apryl's most hospitable abode (he's got a lift). Possibly doing rhys's blower and/or Adam's probably very hot crank endplay check.
---Burgers for anyone that wants to stick around

Plans are set for 9/15, who's in?
OK,
I just spoke to Adam and he suggested a great place in Neptune City called Kelly's Tavern.
It's not a Diner, but they server breakfast for those that are interested, or lunch if that's what meal you're on.
Here's where it is using Google Map, if you need specific directions, please feel free to PM or e-mail

We're plannong to meet at 10:30am for some brunch, then do a little Ocean cruise, and then head up Rt 18 to Freehold and have a little tech session at Adam's house.
Please send a PM or reply to this thread if you can definitely make it.

Hi Mike, well, unfortunately, we definitely can not make it this time, after all. Sorry. Maybe we'll have better luck some other time. (See Kevin's other thread about Supercharging an 84 Euro for why.)
Hope you all have a great time!

I believe I'm in! I had the 2nd spinal on Tuesday and it seems to be working, at least up to this point. I'm at about 70% and it takes a full 72 hours to realize the full effect of the medication, so I have a few more hours to go, but the signs are good.

Leslie,
Maybe there will be something else going on before the weather gets too bad. I drive mine all winter, but the GTGs and fun drives are fewer and farther between. Sorry you can't make it.
rhys,
That's good news! Very cool. If you can get that part Adam and I will try to get it taken care of for you. If not, we'll set up a time for another tech session soon.
