Default Running S4 On 104 RON + Nitros Mix

Hi Friends,

Has anybody out there tried boosting the fuel for better performance for the 928? At present my S4 is a pre cat model and have done the basic mods of upgrading the ECU with more agressive chips and added a RMB.

Here in the UK we have access to 99 RON Super Unleaded (Tescos) which I always run the shark on. Now the next step of the experiment is to add fuel additives to boost the Octane level to 104 RON and also add a liquid based Nitros Mix for the extra kick in the tank.

Before I do this, any last minute warnings like "don't do it or you'll screw the engine", then now is the time to speak. I have a disused 1.5 mile airstrip nearby which I hope to test first thing tomorrow.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Syed

Just curious but, if the car is not tuned to run on a higher octane fuel are there really any gains to be had?

Higher octane does not provide any better performance at all unless you are pre-igniting on lower octane.

Hi

I am in the Uk ...and if you mean add "NitroMethane" to your fuel.....DONT !!!!!!!!!!!!

You WILL blow your engine to pieces if you dont know what percentages to use !!!!!!!!!

You would need a Nitro Hydrometer at least and a LOT of luck for the engine to survive....

I used to be a Top Fuel Crew Chief and we used NitroMethane in high percentages...mixed with Methanol and Acetone....so I DO know what I am talking about.....

So PLEASE take my advice...your engine will NOT survive Nitromethane !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That runway ??? Can anyone use or hire it ???

All the best Brett

the x pipe is a really good mod and will give you a power gain you can feel. there is one available in the uk or you can bring in the 928 motorsports piece which looks very nice. i have a louis ott x on mine.
