Post auto trans shifting "hard" recently

Hi all,
Love all the advice and stories here; wanted to see if any one might have the detailed vacume (sp?) info for an 88 s4? I think my vac line to the tranny got clogged with something? I'm not sure which line is vac to the trans so I can pull it and try to clear it.

appreciate any help you can give.

thanks

If you are looking at the bottom of the tranny, on the driver's side there is a small rubber cap with a round green piece under it. In the middle of it is a metal T handle that you can pull out a little and turn to adjust the firmness of shifts. Clockwise gets harder, and vise versa. Check around there to see if any vacuum lines are disconnected, or leaking as that may be the problem. The less vacuum you have, the harder the shift. When was the last time you had the tranny service done? Maybe time for new fluid and filter? I'd recommend the redline atf, its good stuff!

Hey thanks BJ,

Here't the real problem. The vac line disconnected at the manifold; so there's no vac to the tranny or other lines connected there.

I posted again, do you know if you have to pull the manifold to just replug the vac line?

Which Car?
I have replaced vac lines under the manifold of my 85.
I believe the S4 and later is really tough but on the 85/86 cars, you have a bit more room to work with.
