3 piece spoiler removel
Ive just recieved my new fiberglass rear wing (I have a euro 86 S2) I started to remove the old 3 piece rubber spoiler/wing,while taking it off it began to rain so i went in side for a cup of coffee, after the rain i returned to finish the removel and to my horror the inside of my boot was soaking wet, everything! I had to disconnect the rear wiper motor because it went bezerk,
before i go any further,
My questions are-is that rubber 3 piece spoiler also the window seal?
If so what are my options? if not where did all the water come from,
do i need to buy new rear quater window seals also
And does anybody have deminsions for the placment of the new fiberglass i.e where i should bore the holes?

S spoiler removal isn't that simple operation. You need to remove two pieces of metal welded into body which hold in place two smaller pieces. Window seals are different for S model also but they should work without soft spoilers. They will just look stupid.

The studs for the spoiler have rubber o-ring seals the retaining clips for the metal trim also have such o-rings. You will find that there is no metal trim under the spoiler and you will need different metal trim for all around the rear hatch as well as some of the retaining clips with o-rings. As mentioned the 1/4 windows need a new seal as well as metal trim because there is no metal under the spoiler side pieces and all the metal trim is different.

Jim, I had the same problem, but I think they didn't reinstall the o rings, i had mark send me like 20 sealing rings, so If i just reinstall the o rings to the proper places that should make it correct right.

Yes the o-rings seal the holes where the studs pass through the body next to the glass. The glass is glued in with black sticky rubber there is no rubber weather strip seal , same for the windshield...
