Headlight Warning???
Will this thing not accept ANY high-tech upgrades??
I spent the whole day installing a set of HID - H4 replacement lamps in the GT's 8"ers. Sounded like a great treat for a nice car.....
but no...................
When it's all buttoned up and ready to test, it seems to work fine...... low S
Get out the digital volt meter......
-12.4v on the low terminal when low selected
-12.4v on the high terminal when high selected
-06.8v on the HIGH terminal when LOW is selected.......... WTF??
Obviously 6.8v is not enough to trigger the HID hi-beam solenoid circuit, but apparently it's enough to keep it from dropping the solenoid out.
So, where is the 6.8v coming from??
Is this something to do with the light-warning system?
(I did notice something I had not noticed before but may just have missed... the blue high-beam indicator is faintly lit when low-beam is selected........., high indication is still bright blue.)
Is there a fix?
What would happen if I bonded both sides of the OEM H4-socket's respective terminals to each other??

Brian - did you ever resolve this issue?
I did not quite understand what you were saying... looking at the connections it appears you have 4 to the bulb... Is this a genuine HID arc system with igniter/ballasts under the pod somewhere? The wiring insulation looks to be a little thin for this? but maybe its just the picture. I assume the thin black/white wires are for the moveable arc shield actuator?.
Did it come with an adaptor for the dual-beam conversion?
Seems likely you need a relay or some other combiner so the power stays on to the arc ballasts in both Lo & Hi beam modes and then the high beam just moves the arc shields.
Make any sense to you?
BTW there is no HL monitoring (at least nothing but visual with the little glass nipples on the top of the pod glass when they are up).
