It is (or should be) common knowledge that Smokey Bear is always sitting just across the state line in most states. Oregon is a notorious example. The zone changes from 70 to 65 and in an instant you're busted. Another must do is to remember to slow for small towns at least 10 miles out. Smokey doesn't care so much for venturing more than that but loves to sit in hiding closer in. See a sign telling you a small town is approaching, and it is time to lift for awhile and catch your breath. And then wait ten miles before dropping the hammer after leaving the town. Why pay for more donuts??
