Chin spoiler - best prices?
 

The shark thought Tractor Trailer blown out tires were a meal this morning at about 75mph. Where's the best place to buy a new one? Ripped all the mount areas in front clean off. 1980 model. <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Why not get a used one? There are a lot of them out there. For a new one, try 928 Specialist or Devek. Oklahoma Foreign for used stuff is usually cheap. There is a guy in Kansas who sells used 928 stuff real cheap. Let me know if you want his number.

Just call me lucky! I wouldn't mind a used one if it isn't cracked. New ones look like they run about $325 or so....not worth it! All of the areas up front where the spoiler is attached broke as the force pulled the spoiler back and the bolts stayed attached. I'm lucky I didn't lose the whole thing. Last week it was a bucket causing havoc but nothing more than a few scratches. My mechanic does alot of work primarilly for the Porsche racing community here in La Jolla CA. These guys see alot of stuff that breaks off cars. I'm hoping they can fix it. If not it would be nice to have the number of the guy you're talking about. Thanks.

You might wanna call Devek 1st, because there was a post on 11/1/02 from Ell & Mary (Front spoiler repair time), saying that he called to order the front spoiler and they had a special on them for $225.00.

i just received my front spoiler from devek for my 86.5 for 225.00 plus 25.00 for shipping.

Just had mine repaired - was in 2, nearly 3 pieces, breaks in the ends of brake duct cut outs.
$55 right here in Riyadh. Did it through a workshop I know, didnt see the actual place it was done. Does the name 'Protoplas' mean anything? See if it is findable in USA.

Can't beat that Devek price, but when/if that goes away, get someone with an automotive business (mech, body shop) to call Performance Products for you and get their wholesale price - I got mine a year or two ago for around $220 that way.

Thanks everyone.....at this point it looks like the chin guard will last a bit longer (doesn't visually look any worse for wear) Looks like the boys at Mind Over Motorsports can redrill and reconnect it. I'd have seriously taken advantage of the sale on the spoilers but since my old cork oil pan gasket is being replaced (was scheduled to go in today anyway) as I write you can probably guestimate the labor cost. What was the book time on that again? Something like 8 hours I think....X $65/hr....ouch!....I could've bought a lift and the tools for that, but at least they handle all the degreasing....it looked like a sabotaged Kuwaiti oil field underneath and I lost a few friends over the past six months due to oil drops on their driveways! <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />
