Sharks in the Park II - images
Greetings,
Came back from my first 928 gathering / event with a big smile on my face. Got a chance to open her up somewhat, eat some really good food (THANKS !!!) and meet some great people and see fantastic cars. Bill Ball did one heck of a job and the good people from DEVEK are what makes owning a 928 the experience that it is. Nicole, I hope your Shark will be feeling better. As for the ride, if my 928 didn't have a problem rubbing it's front tires, that white car would have some silver beast on it's tail...
Here is a URL that contains only a few of the images that I took there, enjoy !

Weissach,
A little class, bitte!
Lift your hood and see if there are wear patterns that should be under the hinge proper. I could be wrong but, from the flick the hood to fender gap though uniform seems a tad wide on the drivers side. This could be caused by the PO or a mechanic
removing the hood for ease of maintenance work.
Perhaps someone leaning on it or a gust of wind tweaking it while in the open position.
Pattycakes, my Weissach has a narrowing gap from rear to front which I plan on correcting after she returns from Tinbender/Paintshop Hell. Then again some rube will probably T bone me and that will be that. Great looking Weissach. How's the dash?
Robert, Is Nicole's sHARk in this series? I've only seen her cloudy day on the coast flick so far.
Looks like a great gathering and a damn nice day for one!
Who owns the Cabriolet?
John S.

John,
Unfortunately I only have these images of Nicole's car. The cabriolet is owned by Dan Brindle ? I think.

The Cabriolet is owned by Dan Brindle. His website is http://www.kondratyev.com/porsche/
The Weissach is Jessa's car. She has tried to adjust the hood, but for some reason it did not let her make the necessary adjustment. We had a discussion about it, but did not have the right tools handy to try it right there...
There will be more pictures of my car, I guess, when George Suennen posts them on his website. Keep checking http://sis125.berkeley.edu/928/
George even took pictures with the car (beauty) AND me (the b...)

Hi Randy,
I think it was somewhere between 30 and 35. At several times, other Porsches drove by and slowed down to take a look. I saw a few 911 types and of course, some Boxsters. We also had some admiring glances by quite a few sportbike owners when they rode past.
The really amazing thing was the sound of the DEVEK white car as it made it's way toward the gathering. You could hear it for a few minutes before seeing it. The campground was situated in the middle of a straight and thus there were many quick bursts of speed before settling-in and taking off for the run.
It was amazing seeing all of those cars and the reactions that people had to them.

That would make for a total of 31 cars. I got there late, after lunch and didn't register.

It was good seeing fellow 928'ers for the first time. Thank you to Bill for putting this all together.

Hello all,
I put up a site page. It's at:
Sharks in the Park - 2002
I'm still working on the photo gallery, so if anyone
has photos they'd like to share, just email me at:
jorj7@sis125.berkeley.edu
And a special thanks to Bill for all his hard work.
George

Well done George!
It's nice to see a bunch of 928s pulled over to the side of the road for a reason other than being broken down:

Rob,
Thanks for the additional flicks.
Nicole,
Don't know where I got the Idea that your sHARk was a deep Metallic Blue?
I thought you once posted a Coastal shot with the marker lights on, twas a cloudy/foggy day.
I seldom see other sHARKs and wanted to see how a darker one looked in the light of a normal day.
So many people machine wax these days and to me it doesn't look as good as a hand waxing.
However from Rob's flicks all the darker paints did look good - yours as well -

John,
I use an Olympus C-2100 UZ. It's a 2.1 megapixel
camera with a 10X optical zoom and 2.7X digal
zoom. That's good for 27X zoom, though I usually
just use the optical zoom for picture clarity.
It also has image stablization, so I don't need
a tripod for the long range shoots.
I don't think it's available anymore, most cameras
now are 3.1 megapixel or more. They do appear
on ebay though. Full write up at:
