Default Thinking about bidding on this car. Anyone know it?

Hi guys,

I was hoping someone might have some input on this auction. The car is local to me. It appears to be in much better shape than the 1980 basket case I currently have. I'm thinking of buying this one, and parting the other one.

What do you all think a fair price for this 1979 is?

I was eyeballin' that one too, as it's in my state - but alas too far to drive over and gawk at.

I'd be worried about electrical system and vaccuum-system dry-rot. The seller states the tires are dry-rotted, so you know it sat for a long time.

The "fresh" metallic grey paint is a huge unknown. We cannot tell from pictures if it's Methhead Bob's EZ-spray or a well-executed work of art.

On the plus side:
no rub strips
supposedly runs great
5-spd, supposedly shifts good
nice phone dials (in the pics anyways...)
restorable interior

5 hours left and Reserve Not Met @ $2125...

Did you scope out this one?

It's always fishy fishy fishy when someone states they just bought it and it's got more problems than they know how to fix. Nice seats tho.

Hey it runs... and is a 5-speed. You could strip it and turn it into a track beast.
