Yep, that's what I thought.

But it looks like the right hardware.

One was just sold off the Rennslit classifieds for $195.00. It was local so there was no shipping charge to a local. I understand from the seller that it was shipped back east someplace I now kick myself in the *** for not buying it

Sorry Don! The guy's just mistaken about the year "his" 928 was. Only the early 87 had these.

If he sold his car and doesn't need the wing...

a) he really had an early '87 and replaced the folding wing.
b) he bought a folding wing for his '88 and never installed it.
c) he put a folding wing on his '88 but replaced it with the original wing when he sold it.
d) none of the above.

Wherever it came from it looks like a for real folding wing.

Well, looks like a few of us will be bidding against each other. Been watching this one since it was posted.

It's rare, fragile, and obsurdly expensive, so everybody wants one.

Porsche and other European manufacturers are known for installing random old parts on later cars. Maybe that is the case for this one.

Art I have one stock on my 87, as well as the P-squirters,rub strip delete,5 spd. and LSD! I know, irrelevant to this thread, but I like sayin' it. Any how, what so special about it is you can actually clean and wax the part you can't(or at least not easily) with the other wings.

I have a "perfect" folding wing, probably two, depending on the condition of the one coming next week, and a equally good fixed wing that I would be willing to part with if anyone doesn't get what they want from eBay. I was "stockpiling" them for a future shortage , but what the heck...

I added the hinged wing to my 88, it's a novelty if anything
hinges are WAY expensive if they break, has a tendancy to pop up if you hit a really good bump (don't buy one without knowing the hinges are REAL tight)
if anyone has a GTS wing painted nite green I'd be happy to swap ya
