I think I may have fried my brains (LH and EZF that is)
Dear All (1985, US, Auto)
Long story short...I got a set of chips that were burned by a respectable person and i put them in. I tried to crank it and nothing. So I removed the chips and put my old ones back in and cranked it up, no problem. So I figured that maybe the new chips were miss-labeled, so I swapped them back in, except this time I put them in the opposite computers. I cranked it and no start...So I decide that all this was for nothing and I put my stock chips back in their respective computers and now it will not start. I figured that maybe I got the chips backwards, so I swapped the stock chips around. Still no crank however the FP relay would chatter when the key is in the on position. I swap the chips back to the original position (I think) and I still have no start.
Currently I have Chip # 22273(65)428 in the LH2.2 computer (I could hardly read the numbers in () I think they are 65.
and I have chip #2287355631 in the EZF
Can some one tell me if I have the right chips in the correct computer?
Thanks to all for the help...I am currently freaking the hell out.

You have them backwards,
the 2287355xxx series chip goes in the LH.
Also watch your orientation, there is a notch one one end of the EPROM and also on the EPROM socket which should match up.

Try again; the stock EZF chip is 2227355520 on my car.
Looks as if you have them backward. Also, be careful you have pin 1 of the chip aligned with pin 1 on the pcb/socket.
You have the battery disconnected and your grounded right?

Oh, If it still doesn't run let me know. You hopefully just damaged the EPROMS and I have a batch of the 2732A EPROMs coming for some "tuning" I am currently doing and can burn you some stock copies.

I was making sure to be careful (i.e. I have a ground bracelet from me to the car) while doing the swap...I feel like an idiot (I am an electrical engineer). I am gonna go swap them around and Ill get back to yall. Super thanks guys!

I put my EZ-F eBay clone chip in backwards after doing test runs on the dyno. Dead. One sign, the fuel pump runs constantly with the key on, before starting the engine. I carefully put the stock chip back in, and she fired right up.
The stock 2732 chips are really slow, 450ns. So old arcade chips, or whatever, will work.

I went and swapped them and the FP relay cuts in and out, also I have run my battery down in the process from the initial swaps. I have the battery on a trickle charger and will try it in when the battery gets back up to it's proper charge.
Thanks again to all for the good advice.

I paid nothing for the chips and I am investing my time and knowledge into this project so that I can help others as they have helped me. My Karma is excellent my frined I assure you.

Well, the battery is charged up so I turned the key to the on position and the FP relay is still chattering. While I was listening to it (probably about 5-10 seconds) I herd a fairly loud boom from under the hood and I immediately turn the key off, (Keep in mind I was not cranking the motor over). I popped the hood and a decent amount of smoke came from under the hood. The weird thing is that it did not smell like electrical smoke (like from wire insulation or something). It smelled kind of like normal combustion smoke...I am stumped and distraught at this point. If anybody has any ideas I am all ears.
DR, a pm is sent on your offer.

yup, I have cleaned out pants twice.
I have noticed that if I unplug the EZF computer that the FP relay stops chattering, but that is expected I guess. Man, if anybody has any ideas or feels like putting some prayers up to the god of Bwah, now would be a good time.
