According to my sticker the "Competition Group" was a $1,900.00 option in '82. No sport seats in mine (and no itemization of what was included in the competition group).

I was just wondering this the other day...
My car has the spoilers, rims, and sport seats...just not sure about the shocks or springs. One of these days I would like to find out if it has it, but it's not a big deal. I'll have to contact Porsche. I'm not sure what my option codes are, and I don't think they started putting them in the back until later years.

Customers could specify paint and interior colors the same way as on a normal 928. The package was available in the 1981 and 1982 model years and was cancelled in 1983 when the S model became available for these markets. Many cars have had S features added by subsequent owners, making original "Competition Package" cars difficult to distinguish without checking option codes.

Porsche "recycled" outdated option codes every now and then; the number might have a different meaning for your model year.

i noticed that, too... i think you're right, it's the same code re-used.

1981 Competition Pack cars
Well nobody really seems to know for sure how many were built of these models. In 1981 there were only 73 928's delivered to Australia, probably none of them are the same , but mine does have all those bits fitted to it. Spoilers, seats, LSD diff, rims.

Erkka,
By sticker I mean the "bill of sale" listing the car and its options. Not the tag/sticker in the trunk.

There were two 1980 US market cars with the Competition group option, built in March of 1980. Of 1651 US market '81s, there were 458 Competition group cars.
