Default UPPER BALL JOINT SNAG

Postponed my MM's till next week. Did'nt have all my eggs in one basket! Started my upper ball joint rebuild instead. I cannot get to the ball joint nut with a socket! A long socket & breaker bar will not get in there, & a short socket does'nt grab enough nut, due to the ball pin stud that pertrudes about 3/4 of an inch past the nut! Had to go and buy a 19mm closed end wrench. I should be able to get that baby off in the AM. Only problem is I will not be able to torque the nut when I put it back on! Gonna have to give it the old " feels good!".

Rob,
Ulness your car was fitted with the optional 'extra small' sized A-arms, you'll need to hustle out and buy some 22mm sockets and wrenches .... 19mm never cut it for me.

It is a squeeze, but a long handle 1/2" drive ratchet can fit in there: is it possible that the socket didn't slide on due to incorrect size?

If the 19mm was a typo - just pullin' your leg

It definately is 19mm, I had the socket on there by itself. I think it's the spindle back that has these 2 areas that stick out & cause my difficulty.
