Default I Polished My Rod

Got ya!!! It took about two hours of hand polishing to get it to look like this. Special thanks goes out to Rennlist Member s928s who sent me the extra cross brace. Now I'm going to polish the one I took off this car and put it on the 78. Did you know that the 78 cross braces are made of steel. very heavy and kind of fugly, but not for long.

What? This car isn't a concourse winner but I guarantee my engine compartment is in better shape than 90 percent of 928's of this age. But I am in the process (slow process) of polishing a spider for this car.

Relax Brother it was tongue in cheek. The new rod looks so pretty, you need the other metal parts polished now to match, is all I'm saying Sheesh, spit out my head!!!

What, you didn't make that avatar do it for you? Have her come over and polish my rod please. Seriously, looks nice. Wish I had time to clean up my act under the hood.

On my '79 I painted the crossbrace with silver paint. Not too labour intensive and turned out pretty nice:

That looks very nice Randy. I really like the spider. Was that the Cabriolet? Speaking of which, has anyone gotten a status on that thing from Tarek? He hasn't been around lately.

mine was all painted in black. so i got the ole dremel tool out and stripped the whole thing.
then i spray painted the ends in a matt black finish and gave the rest of the rod a sort of brushed look.
i like it a lot. but yours looks pretty cool , too fabio
BTW you got PM

Very purrty!!

I tried to get mine off but could only get 1 bolt off on each side. I was worried about stripping the allen head so its on the back burner for now.
