Almost ready for SITM
Making decent progress, hoping it will be ready to go for SITM.
How many more days do we have?
Most of the carpeting and leather is done, but I ran out of SEM dye. Also need to wire the speakers and reinstall the door and rear quarter panels (Saturday), connect up the stereo (Monday with a little help from Hans), and then install the seats (Tuesday).
That leaves Wednesday night to wash and pack. I'm just praying for no snags or it will be a VW I'll be driving down (bummer).

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the word of encouragement.
Just reflecting back on the last 12 months when I was asking my neighbor for assistance on changing my oil to go to SITM. That is when he discovered my tires had excessive inside wear… now known to be probably due to an incorrectly performed alignment… but what did I know.
I took my car to my trusty mechanic who quoted me straight faced a number around six grand to repair. Needless to say, I said not today. I had already blown several grand with them in the first couple years of ownership.
Then I met Jeanie via phone and described my situation. She encouraged me to try to fix things myself and pointed me toward Rennlist. That led to R&R the steering rack, all the PS lines and cooler motor mounts, tie rod ends, lower control arm, and upper ball boots.
After much research, I’ve been trying to tackle everything I can ever since. I did get a chance to replace my exterior door latch mechanism. What a year it has been. I’ve learned a lot and have enjoyed the challenges. Note to self… don’t try to fix everything all at once!
Most importantly, I look forward to meeting others that share the same passion we all have!
Thanks Again,
Kurt

Kurt,
I am more than happy to pick up a couple more cans of SEM for you in the city... and help you spray it. I wont be in the office on Monday, but can pick it up on Tuesday, and meet you at your place after 6:30pm. Just shoot me an email or give me a call. At least one of us Indy guys will have a shark down there this year.

So now it’s a 50/50 guess on where to put the yellow and green wires.
Does anyone know what color wire belongs on the same side as the brown wire?

Pin 1 = brown
the other side are:
Pin 2 = yellow/red
Pin 4 = green

Bill,
Thanks for the pin outs on the seat controller… Perfect timing!
Decent day considering I had lots of distraction like getting the dogs groomed and feeding 13 people steak dinners…. Speakers wired with quick disconnects, carpets on door panels and panels installed (delayed due to BW Weld reinforcement needed). Rear quarter in place.
Tomorrow is the big race so I don’t anticipate much progress. Monday has to be a very highly productive day or I may be force to take a day off work to complete what is necessary.
Han’s if you don’t mind stopping by the SEM dealer and picking up one more can of dye, that would be great. I’ll get you the number and keep my fingers crossed they have it in stock.
Andrew, thanks for the light!

New bucket seats
Oh yeah, Hans was a big time asset today!
Check him out trying to help out with the new bucket seats.
Paul, I don’t mean to tread on your territory, but it obvious the price to function ratio could be viewed as a threat. I better strike up a sponsorship deal with Randy before pursuing this any further.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at SITM soon!

We have sound!
It might not be the prettiest, but with a big thanks to Hans... Mary and I will have something to listen to each other all way down to SITM.
Andrew, focus all the shrine candle power in Rixter's direction. Looks like I'm good to go. A couple seats, steering wheel and the rear hatch latch is all that's left for tommorrow. After that it should be just air, oil, gas and go.
Hopefully I can wash her up somewhere after I get down there (the shark that is)
