I don't get this, and never have. I had a '90 944 Turbo, which was great. I have an '89 928 S4 auto, which is great. I met a bunch of guys today with Boxsters, Cayennes, 911s from early-ish ones to a new GT3 orange thing which was just awesome. They're all great. If what someone can afford is a 924, and he/she loves it and enjoys it, that's great too.
Good luck also to the guys with trick Japanese cars, or the Vauxhall Novas with stock 1.1 motors but great paint and bodywork because the owners can't insure a car with a non-stock engine.
We're all petrolheads under the skin (or even on it, like I am today.. must clean the fingernails before work on Monday....). With attacks from Government over speeding, horsepower, tracking systems, road pricing, and from the so-called environmentalist lobby, if we don't stick together we're sunk.

Oddly and the scary part is that 928's 951's ect.....are fast...and people brag about how fast they go...but there is nothing like being on A6 autobahn doing 160MPH and family stuffed in BMW or MB wagon passes you. Based on that I see no reason to **** away any more money making it any faster.

Just a couple points to mull over.
1. The AMC Pacer rear end is most probably a design borrowed from a protype of the VW/Audi project EA125, which would later become the 924. AMC spent a lot of time at the plant working with them to provide the engine for the Pacer and OHC 4 cylinder Jeep.
2. The 944 list has a LOT of knowlegeable and helpful members. There are also a few others that are so low on the Maslow scale that they think the best way raise themselves up is by lowering others (924,928 etc owners) to their level. The best way to handle them is to ignore them, or stick with the facts and stay away from the dog $hit.
