Missing thread about Willhoit's latest offering

Seems thread starter shaynes or admins removed thread about Willhoit's latest offering:

http://www.willhoitenterprises.com/car244.htm

shaynes, my comment was about year 1995 listed in the ad. Car has '94 MY R VIN. Still, comment had smilie next to it.

Still would like to know what Exclusive it has. Few pics in ad do not seem to show anything special. I may have missed something.

:rtfm: More free advertising for Willhoit

shaynes Feb 4, 2007 06:57 PM

I don't know I didn't take it off, maybe because it said willhoit, whatever, just letting people know it is there, looks like a nice ass car, but it should be right.... whatever..

WTF is this supposed to mean, "The Quickest Automatic we have ever Owned!!!!!"

Wow do I hate used car sales hype.

The 1995 thing does kind of make me wonder, big difference in price right now, but functionally nothing is really different between any of the GTS model years is it?

Its always the same result when threads like this are posted so Randy just took it down I am sure. They don't do any good and just result in a pissing contest.

Vilhuer Feb 4, 2007 07:25 PM

Ok, it was Randy then. This is gone soon too.

danglerb, there are differences in different model year GTS. Read wikipedia.org for short summary.

Personally, I'm always happy to gaze at the wonderful finds that Willhoit makes. He works hard and deserves his success.

Here is the wiki entry, some rare options maybe, but nothing seems significant to me.

1992

* Model designation: 928 GTS
* Engine displacement: 5.4 L
* Valves: 32
* Power: 345 hp/350 PS (257 kW)
* Changes:
o Engine grows to 5.4 L, bodywork updated with flared rear fenders and cupped mirrors. "big black" front brakes, significantly larger than "S4" version. Stronger manual gearbox with differential driven oil pump and front mounted oil cooler.
o GTS became available in North America from spring 1992 as early 1993 model. These cars use same parts as 1992 ROW models.

1993

* Model designation: 928 GTS
* Engine displacement: 5.4 L
* Valves: 32
* Power: 345 hp/350 PS (257 kW)
* Changes:
o Engine pistons changed to limit oil consumption. Minor update to clutch.
o Passenger side airbag added to RHD cars.

1994

* Model designation: 928 GTS
* Engine displacement: 5.4 L
* Valves: 32
* Power: 345 hp/350 PS (257 kW)
* Changes:
o Cabin pollen filter added. Dynamic kickdown to automatics. Wheel design changed to Cup II, RDK deleted at same time.
o First 19 US models were made already in spring of 1993, months before when normal model year change occurs in July. Cars still use previous model year parts like Cup I wheels and do not have 1994 model updates.

1995

* Model designation: 928 GTS
* Engine displacement: 5.4 L
* Valves: 32
* Power: 345 hp/350 PS (257 kW)
* Changes:
o Special model available in some ROW markets containing wider front fenders made out of steel and 8" wide front wheels. Only available with automatic gearbox and Iris blue metallic and Amazon green metallic color with Classic grey leather interior.
o Manual gearbox car production ended some months before last automatic cars were made.

No firm evidence of them that I know of, just paper.

It says flared fenders, not steel fenders. Why would you want steel fenders?

heinrich Feb 4, 2007 10:53 PM

Fabio my brother

Nice to see freedom of expression has returned to your avatar :cheers:

IcemanG17 Feb 5, 2007 03:44 AM

Hmm they don't look flared very much to me...or at least not $2500 worth!

Just like a lot of things 928, the answer is how much do you want to spend.

First guess is that you would find a shop that could repair the damaged fender regardless of how extreme the damage is, but at some point you might be looking at some serious costs to fabricate a replacement.
