question on the 928 toolkit
When I purchased my car there were a few pieces missing from the panel tool kit (pliers, small spanner and toe eye). I noticed an open space between the pliers and the spanners that I assumed was for the wiper motor. However someone told me its for a pouch can anyone shed some light on this trival question thanks.

There is a fabric pouch for the OEM jack, and there's room to put it behind the toolkit. Maybe that's what the person was referring to.

IIRC if its the space next to the pliars and below the sparkplug wrench it is for the handcrank, if it is the space next to the wrenches it is for the lug nut wrench.

Under the pilers is the spark plug wrench & cross bar, under the wrenches is the seat & tow hook wrench.
The lugnut wrench has no place on the rear tool panel nor does the jack - although they can both fit behing the panel with some ingenuity.
The depressed area to the right of the pliers is for the wiper motor mechanism - there is no space there when the tool panel is in the car.

What is the piece below the lug wrench in the above picture?
Alan,
I don't know if you're aware of it or not, but you have a piece missing. That small round circular depression near the bottom center of the panel is suposed to have a wire loop with a hook on the end of it. I believe it's for removing the plastic cap that's on the original wheel locks.

You are right that is missing from Alans tool kit and it is for removing the wheel caps.

123 I believe you - I have seen pictures of it... but I ditched my wheel locks (- its a long story on another thread). I guess I'm not going to worry about that part given its non-functional for me (although if I saw one...).
I was orignially misssing my screwdrive and bought a replacement. It came with the 2 928 blades (small philips and longer slot blade) and also a longer philips blade - this was stock on something else - some year 911's I think. many of our tools are common with other models...

I was doing this from an upside down picture, it didn't seem quite correct, that's why I put in the IIRC. Obviously I wasn't right. You have a different crank than in my picture, the one in my picture is much smaller and thicker. I have been looking for a correct 85 crank for my tool kit for along time.

Hey Rick - no offense intended - what is your shorter/thicker crank for ? does it also fit the seats?
I am also missing my sunroof crank - anyone have a good picture of one?. Sounds like it was usually just loose in the glovebox - was there actually a specific place it was supposed to go?

This is in my glovebox, along with these 4 plastic plugs. I assume this is the sunroof crank? And what are the plugs for? (they may not even be 928 related for all I know) (I know, RTFM...... )
