Default Was in an accident tonight.

I was on my way home from work in my blazer and was nailed from behind. I was at a complete stop talking to Juvius on the phone and then, BAMM. A nissan altima slammed into me doing about 40mph. Totalled the altima, not much damage to the blazer. My back pretty much took all the energy from the impact. Glad the shark is put up for winter.

Glad you're okay, but give it a few days to make sure you're fine before you sign or say anythign to your ins. co. about your condition.

Huh... you scared me for a moment. I'm glad you are OK, and so is your shark.

Thanks Andrew and Nicole. I'm a little sore and stiff. His ins. called about 1 hour after I got home.

Glad to hear you and your shark are ok, bad news I guess for the nissan.

+1 to what Andrew said, its takes days to feel this kind of injury. I would get checked over by a bone bender to make sure any unknown injury is healing properly.

Andrew is right... You may already know this though about not signing anything for a few days. A little story... My wife was in a "minor" accident and she felt fine afterwards. The insurance company was very quick to get a signature and wrap things up (we thought how great it was they were so quick and helpful). A few days later my wife started having neck and back pains, but we had already settled with the insurance.

FWIW, I've always felt a little worse 48 hours after such an incident, compared to 24 hours after. So I too agree with Andrew.

I saw an accident similar once. I was sitting at a light (4 lane, two in each direction) and the ford Explorer next to me disappeared. It was thrown half way through the intersection (thank god, wasn't hit again) by some chick in a honda who never even slowed down. The driver (a Dad) got out of the ford, checked his kids, gave me the thumbs up, then turned black with rage to address the driver of the honda. I left at that point!

The honda was basically flat to the firewall, but the motor handn't "passed through". I was thinking "thank god I wasn't in that lane".

It did seem suspicious how quick they called. When it happened I heard the guy lockup his brakes and said to myself "oh ****". It felt like there was no cushion. just the seat frame. It just kinda sucks.
You guys are great, Thanks.

You know, a big SUV-type vehicle is a defensive driving tool. My wife got creamed just like you did but in a mid-size sedan. It was not nearly as effective in absorbing or deflecting the 50 MPH car that hit her. She got pushed into the car in front of her, then into oncoming traffic and got clobbered head-on by another car. She ended up in the hospital but recovered fully. There was little left of her car. This was many years ago and she has no residua.

So, your Blazer probably served you well, although it may be such a stiff hulk with that truck frame that it transmitted a lot of energy to you rather than absorbing it, leaving you a stiff hulk. I sure hope you are very OK and don't end up with any lingering problems from this. Yes, be glad about the Shark, but it might have protected you even better than the Blazer.

Take plenty of pain meds.

Just relax and take it easy this weekend. Check your Blazer carefully for damage....have someone crawl under it and take a close look. In my case, it was kinda obvious....https://rennlist.com/forums/off-topic/296304-got-in-an-accident-today-truck-is-totalled.html
Hope you aren't too sore tomorrow.

Yeah, take it easy this weekend, Zeus. We need your expertise. Good to hear you're (mostly) all right. you may ache in the morning. I remember my dad got rear-ended on Christmas Eve one year by a drunk. My dad thought he was fine, but the next day he had a bruise diagonally across his chest where the seatbelt was. Still, he was okay, just really tender.
